Breakfast was alright but fried egg would be wonderful if added
Reconstructions blinded a bit of my view hope it’s finished in time for a next visit
Breakfast and staff were fantastic
Was like staying in a building site. If I had known building work was on going I probably wouldn’t have booked. Ruined the calmness of the trip.
Really enjoyed my stay at Beech Hill, great for a solo traveller and the staff kindly upgraded me to a cosy double with a beautiful view of the lake! Room was really comfy and the TV with Netflix/Disney etc was a nice touch. Spa was super nice and relaxing. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful which I appreciated!
Only slight downside is that the hotel is a bit of a way out from Bowness, so difficult to get around unless you’re driving. But honestly not too much of a problem.
The room we were in was perfect, the bed was huge and tv it had everything you needed in there, hairdryer, iron, fan, kettle, robes etc.
We only stayed one night and wish we stayed longer. The breakfast was amazing that was included, food on the evening was also amazing. The views are beautiful. Even with construction work going on we still had the best stay it didn’t really bother us! Staff were so friendly and helpful. The spa facilities were great and clean! 100% returning especially when the infinity pool is finished. Thank you for having us
Very good

AVOID!
I recently stayed at this spa hotel with my boyfriend to celebrate my 21st birthday, and unfortunately it completely ruined what was meant to be a special occasion.
On the morning of our arrival, I rang in advance to ask whether we could pay to upgrade our room. I was told that our room had already been upgraded complimentary, which we thought was a lovely gesture and got us really excited for our stay.
When we arrived, the reality was very different. We were placed in a room surrounded by scaffolding, right in the middle of what felt like an active construction site. There was constant banging and loud music booming. To make matters worse, there were wires exposed near water, which felt incredibly unsafe, and the room itself was dirty.
This was no mistake! The room was still prepared for us in advance with the expectations that we would stay in it. A member of staff also stated that the door leading to the balcony "shouldn't have been accessible", however, it was! Luckily, we don't have any children as this could've have been incredibly unsafe. We complained and were eventually moved to another room. While this second room looked nicer on the surface, with a balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows, it came with zero privacy. Two workers were on the roof directly outside, staring straight into our room. We had to keep the curtains closed the entire time, which completely defeated the purpose of having a balcony and large windows.
For a spa hotel that markets itself as relaxing and luxurious, this was anything but. Between the construction noise, safety concerns, lack of cleanliness, and total lack of privacy, it was an incredibly disappointing experience — especially for a 21st birthday celebration. We were never asked how our stay was on departure but staff and management are well aware of our frustration and disappointment and not one ounce of compensation or care was given.
I have tried to upload pictures but only one has been accepted
Everything !
Nothing !
Lovely helpful happy staff (Michelle on front desk)
We loved the everything about our trip. The hotel was amazing and views to die for. I would recommend it to everyone
Only downside was the work getting done. But that's nitpicking.
The view even though the weather wasn’t good
There was construction works going on and the builders were using the same facilities as us I think the hotel could’ve done more to keep it separate
Beautiful facilities & rooms, the spa was excellent & so was the view from the bedrooms. Staff were attentive & polite.
No Guinness on tap
The views/location. Very comfy bed and lovely spacious room. The room was clean.
The shower gel, soap and shampoo where extremely budget level and very disappointing. We went out and bought our own. Definately rides off the location and views. The food was extremely average. The decor e.g. the fluffy cream sofas are very cheap and tacky. No one came in the make the room up over the 2 nights we were there. Feels very much like a 3 star hotel.
Staff were super friendly. Hotel was being renovated but internally was high quality. Couldn’t use balcony or outdoor hot tubs but service and the stylish inside surroundings made up for it.
Only that we couldn’t use the balcony. Renovations are due to be completed soon though (by end of 2026) so I’m sure all areas will become available for use over time.
The views from this hotel are fabulous. The hotel is undergoing a huge refurbishment and it’s looking beautiful
The menu is limited and doesn’t have much vegetarian choice.
