My wife and I finally had a chance to disconnect from the world and focus on relaxation. The service at the hotel was delightful and we enjoyed the sound bath (highly recommend), outdoor yoga, and watched movies and ate popcorn on their outdoor screen. The rooms do not have TVs, although they do offer free WiFi if you need to check in. The location is just a few blocks from the main strip in Palms Springs (Palm Canyon Road). We truly enjoyed it and will be back. The only improvements I could think of is to offer a full bar by the pool and have a heated pool. Thank you!!
I stayed here for a business retreat in March and it was so lovely. The grounds are stunning and the rooms are so quaint and unique -- very fitting for Palm Springs!
Amazing breakfast, incredible location, and fantastic staff. I cannot overstate how much we enjoyed our stay. I will stay here again soon!
Wow what an amazing experience staying at Korakia. I have decades of experience in Palm Springs but have never stayed at. this property but I am now a fan for life! The rooms are fantastic, the grounds are really lovely and the staff is incredible.
You guys we see us again soon!
I don't throw around the word "perfection" lightly, but Korakia earned it. I attended a corporate retreat here over three nights and I genuinely could not have dreamed up a more beautiful setting for it.
The Moroccan/Mediterranean design is the real thing — authentic, organic, and deeply considered. Nothing feels staged or overdone. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like you've stumbled into someone's incredibly well-traveled home rather than a hotel. Every corner is stunning.
What also stood out was how thoughtfully Korakia worked with our group's organizers — you could tell every detail had been aligned with intention, right down to brand considerations. It felt seamless and considered in a way that's rare.
We used the yoga stage for a group wellness session and it was absolutely ideal. The pools were the perfect temperature at any hour — morning dip or late night float, it didn't matter. And the quiet! I had some of the best sleep of my life here. I woke up each morning to birds chirping outside my window, which I know sounds like something out of a fantasy — but I promise I'm not exaggerating. It's just that kind of place.
Each morning, the Korakia girls brought hot coffee right to our front patio. Breakfast was fast, fresh, and delicious. The cocktails were beautifully crafted. My room had a record player and a kitchenette that was more than I needed — it felt like a proper retreat, not just a hotel stay.
The location is a quiet gem too — tucked away from the bustle but walkable to great restaurants, bars, and vintage shops. The best of both worlds.
I cannot wait to come back. Korakia is truly special.
Their team was amazing to work with from start to finish. Everyone was incredibly detail-oriented and attentive, which made the whole experience feel seamless and thoughtful. The hotel itself is beautifully curated and full of character, with design choices that make the space feel unique and intentional. It is clear a lot of care goes into both the guest experience and the atmosphere of the property. Would absolutely recommend.
The hotel grounds are beautiful. We booked the Ionion room which was cute but only had a queen bed and the bed room and bathroom were very small. Overall my opinion is the property needs a remodel to bring it up to modern luxury standards. There are no TV’s, no gym and no car chargers. The property is photogenic but that’s about it. Not a bad experience but definitely not luxury.
If you like tranquility, intimate spaces, authentic historic charm, unpretentious attention to detail inside and out, low-key but responsive service, and subtle rustic luxury, then Korakia may be the place for you. It feels blissfully from another time and place, outside the amped-up Mid Mod mood that defines contemporary Palm Springs. The two separate but aesthetically related compounds are each exquisite refuges, morning, noon, and night, when they are lit up with candles. The courtyard breakfast is a delightful way to begin the day; the two offerings, one with eggs and one with granola or muesli, were always fresh, well-prepared, and pleasingly presented. Note that this is definitely not a place for partying nor a place for kids. Nor for the elderly, I might add; I was traveling with my 87-year-old mother, and the spaces were challenging for her (irregular stone floors and pathways, low lighting, high beds, awkward and limited practical areas, at least in the smaller rooms), though she loved the setting and the aesthetics, and everyone working there was nice and accommodating as could be. Very romantic for couples, relaxing for singles and friends.
Korakia was perfection in every sense of the word! From The Korakia Girls thoughtful hospitality, to the serene grounds, delicious breakfasts, vintage movies in the courtyard, peaceful poolside, bikes to easily travel the city, the beautiful & very comfortable room… we cannot say anymore wonderful things about our lovely stay! Thank you so much, we WILL be back!
My family of four stayed at Korakia Pensione last Thursday, booking two rooms. Based on the glowing reviews and social media hype, we arrived with high expectations. While the hotel’s physical charm is undeniable, our experience was marred by a significant lack of professional service.
The Pros: Design and Atmosphere
The Moroccan-inspired architecture and decor are truly beautiful and meticulously detailed. The rooms are unique and full of character. Although the facilities and air conditioning units are quite dated, the aesthetic appeal almost makes up for the age of the property.
The Cons: Service and Hospitality
Unfortunately, the service level was abysmal. The staff appeared completely untrained in hospitality etiquette. We were met with zero smiles, a lack of eye contact, and an overall impatient attitude. Every interaction felt dismissive, with most of our requests met with a cold "no."
The Incident: No Hot Water in Winter
The breaking point occurred at night when we discovered our room had no hot water. During the coldest part of February in Palm Springs, this was unacceptable. It took a long and difficult coordination process before the staff reluctantly agreed to change our room.
What was most disappointing was the complete lack of empathy. After the room swap, not a single staff member offered an apology, showed concern for our inconvenience, or followed up to see if we were okay. They acted as if nothing had happened.
Final Verdict
The service at Korakia is as cold as the desert winter—a sharp contrast to the beautiful architecture and the luxury-level price tag we paid. For a hotel that positions itself as a premium destination, the lack of basic manners and professional standards is shocking. We left feeling unwelcome and undervalued. We will not be returning, nor will we recommend this hotel to our friends
First, I’m not hard to please. If I book a Motel 6, I know what I’m getting. If I book the Post Hotel, I also know what to expect. Pricing sets the expectation. At least I know Motel 6 staff would bang on some doors if need be.
Korakia Pensione prices itself closer to a luxury wellness property, similar to the Post Hotel, but the amenities don’t quite match that level.
Room rates vary widely from around $600 per night for the smallest room to over $1,090 per night for larger rooms.
There’s no TV (which Im sure is intentional for the wellness vibe), no iron or ironing board, and no in-room tea service though there is an electric kettle. They deliver two small cups of coffee to your room each morning, which is a nice touch. There were a few insects in the room during our stay, and the ceiling fan wouldn’t turn off unless you turned off the light. Not a big deal.
Breakfast is served in the courtyard, with two options to choose from. There are baskets of oranges in the rooms and around the property, which is charming. The property has two heated saltwater pools open 24 hours and bicycles available to ride around town.
The location is excellent, just three blocks from downtown and honestly, that’s what you’re paying for. There’s no on site restaurant. They will order from local restaurants on your behalf, but it comes with a surcharge plus a delivery fee.
Unfortunately, our last night was rough. Our neighbors played loud techno music from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. I contacted the front desk and didn’t receive a response. I had come down with Influenza A the day before and was already feeling awful, so being unable to sleep made it even more challenging.
Overall, beautiful property and incredible location but at that price point, I personally expect a bit more in terms of amenities and guest support.
I wouldn’t stay here again, unless the price was drastically reduced.
Breakfast was consistently very good and the staff were very friendly. The location of the eating area was also delightful. Every morning they brought coffee and left it outside of our room and we loved that! We also loved the ambiance of the hotel and the personalization of the service!! Really lovely place - we would definitely stay there again!!
Our room was small - which was fine but we would have liked to be able to both sit in a chair when in the room. Bed was very comfortable and the overall aesthetic was very appealing.
The place itself is like a Moroccan Oasis in the middle of the desert. Beautiful rooms and grounds. Excellent staff and service. Little touches that made a big difference. Love it!
The place. The staff. The grounds. The pool. The cocktails. The little touches like coffee delivered to your room at 7 am. And more…
Calm and relaxing
No complaints
I got a 90 minute massage by a black haired white lady at 2:30 PM on Saturday 12/20. I don’t know her name but she was extremely inexperienced and claimed she was intuitive but it was the farthest thing from. The massage was like $300 and it was not worth it AT ALL. I left with all the knots I came in with. She didn’t tie my hair up, she didn’t ask how the pressure was I had to tell her to go deeper because all she was doing was moving her hard back and forth on my arms/legs not massaging, rubbing and when she got to my back she didn’t massage it idk what she was doing, and when I told her to go deeper she said sure and pushed her fingers so deep in my shoulders it hurt bad and didn’t ask again, how the pressure was. It was extremely uncomfortable and not a good experience at all. My boyfriend ended up tipping her a lot too because that’s just what he does so I assume she thinks she did a good job but she did not. Not sure where she went to school but would not recommend.
Great breakfast, great mint tea. Great outdoor space
No TV in the bedroom. bit over priced, liked stardust hotel a lot more. Bathroom shower pressure is a bit low, temperature should be higher.
This was my second stay at Korakia -- my first was in The Orchard House and this time I chose the Thessaly Room. Two different spaces, but same sense of spaciousness, light, and peace. I was in Marrakech this time last year and felt like I was right back there with the candlelit lanterns at night, flowers and tiled surfaces everywhere, and warm hospitality. Thank you Korakia Girls, for an amazing stay!
Korakia was totally my jam! From start to finish, the "Korakia Girls" will take care of you. Upon check-in, after passing through the beautiful courtyard, they provide a delicious mint tea (spiked with vodka if you like, though I passed on that) in a Moroccan glass. My knees were aching from a few days of hiking, so upon request, ice bags were waiting for me in the freezer in the room. Each room is unique, but all are equipped with a Victrola and a selection of records. (If you want, you can find more in the lobby). I was pleasantly surprised to see some of my favorites already in the room and playing as they brought me in. (Nice touch!) There are free bikes for riding around downtown, which is within walking distance, but it was fun to use the bike for exploring. Every morning, they leave a thermos of coffee outside your door with a handwritten note, and in the evening, a small gathering of lavender is delivered, with a tag holding a Native American proverb. Also in the evenings, the grounds are lit with candles and classic movies play in the courtyard. There is yoga, heated pools, a bar, food delivery service. I went alone this time but would love to go back with friends.
