I Really appreciates there workers for given their pull attention to customers. They are also friendly to their customers cracking jocks with their customers. I have even advertising their hotel at any time. I will one day must go their with the entire family

Complete Facility, The cleanliness does not need to be question..
Grand Whiz also had the friendly staff also start from parking area, lobby and restaurant..
And what i like most is the VIEW... itz Amazing.
the menu was actualy quite variative but it is unfortunate that there is no Sanwich in the afternoon and evening.. its available in supper only. average price reasonable in 4*Hotel.
but i had lucky that the waitress Ms.april suggest us the food promo tongseng that only 60K include special drink.. although the cooking of tongseng was a bit salty but its ok cz the ribs very soft.
The pool.. itz amazing.. try to come to this hotel in weekdays.. you will feel that to be private hotel..
with some foto corner and ofcourse we dont need back gound actualy cz the montain can be very clear back ground
But My Children are not satisfied enough cz there is no water slide in the pool
Hopefully in the future can be increased..

Old hotel with country style....with a large land around it. There are only 3 suites and we take them all. Location of the suites is at the corner of rooms so we walk quit long especially the one with 5 as 1st digit room number ... But the most disturbing is the "smell" kinda old room that never been open so weather is not fresh and fungus grow inside the room ! Breakfast is mixed traditional Javanese and Asia-West, and good enough. For solo guest I suggest try the capsule room.

Before its name is Grand Trawas Hotel. And after change to Grand Whiz, they make some renovations.But not totally change. In my deluxe room, the furniture still old and also the interior, floor. And i still feel old atmosphere in this hotel. And maybe they don't split the room for smoker or non smokers. I have an ashtray in my room.
The restaurant too small, so in the weekend, maybe some people must waiting. And some arfeas of the restaurant seems dark.
The positive side, this hotel have some photo spot and area for outdoor activities e.g. riding horse, flying fox, ride an ATV or offroad jeep, outbound area.
And they now have the new Capsule Hotel.
My suggestion, this hotel must have total renovation to make improvement of modern hotels, like any other Whiz hotels.

I chose this hotel because the pictures on google were nice. I contacted the hotel directly and compared the price with traveloka. although the online rates are a bit cheaper, booking from the hotel directly was better because there is free barbeque and we could request the room type and view. sadly I only got a room at the end or the corridor and the view of the mountain was not too good - and we had noisy neighbors!

thank you to Ibu Husnul and the front office and pak putu serving omelette and fried rice - the breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

Visit this hotel for 1 night for corporate gathering, hotel placed in a remote location (extremely perfect for those who looking for a gate away). With their latest product capsule room (they also have regular rooms and villas), its very modern and very high tech, great service from all the staffs, great back yard for your event, great food, all become our perfect venue. Their back yard I think would be perfect also for wedding or other social event, its very romantic place in the evening. Last but least, the have 24 hours bar where me n my fellow friends also had a great time there.
Will I return??? Im not even think for another hotel.

Everyone say its an old hotel, yes it is. But for us thats just more charm for this hotel, as long as everything works fine. And it did. The shower, the TV, the kettle etc.
Staffs were excellent and helpful; breakfast was limited but everything was delicious enough; swimming pool and the area is the best; and the view, my god the view... No words.

This hotel actually has a good swimming pool and located in a quite place, with very nice moountain view in front of the rooms. The rooms are quite old enough, need to be renovated. This hotel is quite suit fo employee gathering with some outdoor activities. The food overall is need further improvement.

After more than 10 years I finally come back to this hotel. Thr layout of this hotel hasn't change much. But I remember thst the service was better 10 years ago except for the housekeeping (nice job!).
There are a lot of groups activities while I stayed here (people from Japfa if I'm not wrong). The hotel was very crowded with people and they're playing loud music till around 10pm. They also smoke freely everywhere. This is the thing that I hate so much mainly because the kind of big groups like this doesn't have any concern about the other guests! I think the hotel should be able to take care of things like this or otherwise I won't reccomend this place at all.

We stayed at a deluxe room. The room needs a renovation, especially the bathroom. I ordered food (soto ayam) for my 2.5 years old daughter, it wasn't like I expected when I got that food. It was too expensive. Breakfast should has more menu. We enjoyed the view, and my daughter loved to see horses and play at the playground in front of the hotel. We will come again if the room in a better condition.

The room is nice with simple and chic design. The food is good especially if you want to try various Indonesia food at once breakfast. The view around the hotel is stunning, so I recommend you have a walk while there.

Location of the hotel in trawas surounding by three mountain, penanggungan mountain welirang montain and anjasmoro mountain. When you take breakfast in the morning, the lounge have very good view with swimming pool with back ground of penanggungan mountain.

This hotel is located in Trawas, East Java. In the mountain area and easily can be reach about 1-2 hrs from Surabaya judging there is no traffic jam during the way (but mostly now traffic jam are shifting to the way of Batu/Malang area especially in the weekend).

What we liked, this hotel having very very big open space area. It's very rare now to stay at hotel having big open area comparing to newer hotel which is offer simplicity and modern's room.It's including the playground area for kids to play/enjoy as the facility avail for the kid like children playground, bike rental, ATV rental also local horses rental (providing by local resident, with costly around USD2 for twice trip around the hotel's ground). Also in the morning it will be great to walk around the hotel and its surrounding feeling the morning breeze. For guest with their family, especially for kids and elder people will be enjoy to roaming this hotel. In the lobby area, hotel also provide some simple games, from chessboard, karambol board, pingpong table and billyard table.

Room is quite big enough and mostly will be facing directly to the garden (with dedicated door to open, if located in the first floor, room naming 1xx, but it will cost to walk down several steep stairs below). For other upper rooms, it will be balcony facing the garden, But both rooms having plus scenery which is mountain background, especially in the bright sky you can see the top of the mountain). Rooms is having local Air Conditioner, well enough to cooling down the room in hot bright day, but not necessary in the night, however yes it's still old kind AC Split model having cable for it's controller but amazingly it free of trouble (just back to the old time when we selecting menu manually by clicking it). Room is very spacious, we get twin single size bed, 1 sofa and LCD TV good enough to broadcast some cable channel. We realize the room is kind of outdated style, with some scratch on the wooden floor but all in perfect/ready shape when we checking. Only we feel the floor is kind of dusty,either inside or on the balcony. Hotel should do the clean and more preparation especially when expecting the guest in peak time (Lebaran holiday). Bathroom is clean, providing hot and cold water in shower with good pressure. Also room amenities including hot boiler for tea/cofee maker, sugar and 2 bottle of small mineral water (pls don't forget to bring additional water otherwise it won't sufficient). When sleeping the bed is still having good condition. Pls be careful when leaving the room and make sure it's locked as it's still use old manual key to lock/unlock the door room

Hotel offering FREE WIFI, which is actually TELKOM @wifi.id network. But it's kind of dissapointing for the room in far below corner, signal is very very poor, sometimes the gadget can not properly connect it. And the worse is sometime the cellular signal is not available too, just 2G and may only in minimum strength, so rendering the ability to use gadget in our room. The hotel management should work on it at least to strength and provide good wifi signal in each hotel room so guest may able to use the gadget in the room

The best of it is the pool. They have 1 children pool, 1 deep pool and 1 small jacuzzi small pool (which is we think it will be providing hot however for soaking,but in 2 times of attempt it's just cold water).Children and deep pool is separate with fresh mountain water, free of chlorine. The best to enjoy it is in the morning as it's not too windy and what a great view with the mountain scenery as background. Hotel provide inflatable swimming tube for children costly around USD1. Also several pool benches is available to enjoy the sunshine (well maybe good for the foreign tourist).

Staff is very very friendly. What we liked is they always smile and polite to guest. Even when we walk and they passing us warmly greeting us. The receptionist is very efficient, they already have our booking note in ready. But fortunately, we don't see the concierge be ready to help bring our luggage down to 1st floor neither when check out.And we see other guest also bring up/down their own luggage during the check in/check out process. Well hopefully the management will provide concierge in the future.

The food providing in the restaurant is an average, especially the breakfast. But we have chance to try their KINGKONG Menu which is actually an Indonesian food served for 4 person in good price and very good taste (especially for their sambal). Other food's price, as normally for hotel's price.

So our conclusion :
This hotel is kind of old hotel with standart facility (which is may very superb at their golden time), but they still have excellent open ground, including the swimming pool and kids playground, comparing other new minimalis hotel now. It's very suitable for kids and family to enjoy with its reasonable price. But we think this hotel is not suitable for guest (i.e younger person) which is expect for modern and new minimalis modern room with modern facility (like hi speed internet/wifi speed etc). Please note for guest who travelling with disabilty or older people better to inform and arrange when booking to get upper room, instead od down below with steep stairs.

I spent 2 nights there with my family.
1. The room is big enough with a good view to the garden, we even have a terrace to enjoy the garden view.
2. The pool is also big enough even it will be quite crowded on weekends since there are some outside visitors that can also swim there.
3. The food for breakfast is also various and serve different menu each day, but I dont really recommend to have dinner there due to the expensive price. For lunch, there are some food stalls on the yard of the hotel, and it was really good.
4. The playground is good with some other activities for the kids that are really fun. You have to pay for several games like, ATV, Biking, Horse riding. But all the prices are reasonable.

Finally I returned again to stay to this hotel after about 10 years ago, not much has changed over 10 years. I stay here just for 1 night. Just children playground has much change. Now they have more activities for children, ATV ride & off road car (parents must accompany), horse, trampolin, paint ball shooting, flying fox, some for free and other you must pay. They also have activity for gardening, children will learn how to planting rice. This hotel is suitable for families. Staff are very helpfull, service is good, breakfast was OK. But unfortunately they do not renovate this hotel, it looks very outdated. Furniture, carpets are still the same as 10 years ago, also AC still using the old model (with wired remote control). Only TV that look modern, they are now using LCD, :). And when we stayed there, we have a big problem on day 2 (last day), the room we had leaked from the ceiling, right on top of the mattress !, maybe they have a problem with the waterproofing because our room is below the pool.

Hotel was built in 1995 and seems that nothing was renovated until this day. The carpet is smell, the building looks like it needs fresh paint. The worst is the spa service as I made reservation and was there 10 minutes before just to be greeted by no one. Return to the room and contact front desk, just to be informed that spa personnel is having their dinner and pray !! My goodness, they can tell in advance while I made my reservation. Waiting and waiting and no one had return my call until 1,5 hours later when I went back to front desk and demand for an answer. Never been treated this worst from any place I have been before.

Turns out they dont actually use them, rather its a tourist thing to look at
"Indonesian bangat" a place very much targeted and designed for middle class indonesian taste
and hence just a tad and not quite right for foreign taste. We asked for Vegitarian food, and each dish came with chicken prawn etc (and this was not a language barrier issue, as a number of people in our party spoke perfect Indonesian)

Rooms were pretty standard though we did not stay there and the hotel was very average to look at. Dining area and pool area quite rundown
Nice landscaping, very bushy and a range of activities to do, but really not much going for it, aside from cold beer and mediocre food
Personally I would choose the cottages at Royal Trawas or even better the Royal Trawas outbound adventure camp shipping containers which are really cool !
