Where do I even begin. I never really wrote a bad review, or a let alone a review. Here we go. We booked Puri Payogan for 2 weeks 1 year in advance and based on the pictures we were beyond excited. It was such an insane disaster that we did not even stay a single night after checking in. It was extremely dirty, extremely moldy, very dirty bathtub, 1 almost finished toilet paper by the toilet. The mold is coming in so hard its pushing the paint off the wall man.. You can't miss it. Why nobody did anything? I swear no one cleaned this room, nobody cared about anything, dirty windows, dirty glass. Hot water knob was missing from the bath, there was no hot water and we were told "you can't use hot water, mabe fix tomorrow" no one told us about that before hand and they knew. And MAYBE? Very dirty pillows on the bed, outside pool is very very dirty like there was fog in the water like you wouldn't wanna get anywhere near it. After seeing all this there was a guy at the reception who barely spoke english, was very inconpenetent for this job, a very nice guy though but he was totally lost. We asked him to call someone here because this is unacceptable, we want a full refund immediately. The whole place and room was inhumane. We have been to a lot of hotels but this was more of a kennel for dogs. Whoever this guy called about the issue they were laughing on the other end of the phone and after hanging up he said they said no refund. And we didnt take no for an answer. I asked him to call them back, tell them to come here, call the owner, and we will talk eye to eye in that "room" full of mold and dirt. Then he said okay they started the refund process. We are still in their what's up chat meaning they did not check us out when we asked them to do. On Booking I still had the hotel listed like I'm staying there. No one did anything or give a damn. We never complained anywhere but this was crazy, we just did not matter at all.

We booked the private pool villa however the pool was not private and could be viewed by anyone in the entrance, there was also cameras on the pool. We were told we could get breakfast at the property which wasn’t true. The reception was out for two days of our stay. The listing says free shuttle around ubud area but that was also not true. When I arrived I had to pay over $100 more than what I was supposed to.

Same issues with driveway, musky room, could not breathe had to be moved to another room. Asked daily for toilet paper, it was ridiculous, places need new netting and curtains, never been cleaned. No hand towels, bath towels are so old they are falling to bits, all rooms need to be scrubbed with hot soapy water and some elbow grease, ventilation fans need to be cleaned regularly to get rid of mould.

The room was thick with black mould. Sheets and towels were dirty.

Location, quite remote so needed a taxi to go anywhere.

Could do with some fresh paint in the room.

There were so many steps up to our room. The rooms were not cleaned properly, the sink was leaking. The location was good it was quiet as it wasn’t too central but the path down to the hotel was extremely bumpy. There were also flies and ants in the room.
