This place was so dirty. The shower was broken no hot water. The dust was so thick I could stuff a pillow. The shower pole was black dirt. Skirting was this dust. Bedside table dirty with coffee stains. All the plug sockets dirty. Headboard dirty. Housekeeping needs to do checks before letting out the rooms. Also it was freezing when we got there. At least put the heating on before arriving.
All good
Very friendly and helpful staff. Free parking on site. Room was all set up for 3 people when we arrived which was helpful. Limited plug sockets which makes charging devices tricky (we had to unplug the TV in the end) and the shower wasn't very hot in the morning but overall was a good low cost place to stay.
Bathroom is tired and requires refreshing.
Location is poor with limited parking and on dual carriageway.
Food on site is not best and expensive. Eat somewhere else or have food with you
Parking was easy, with easy access to the 24/7 services next door. I had to wait a while for the staff to come back to the reception to check me in. The bedroom smelt like someone had been cooking in there that day.
Clean room, on site free parking for over night guests and very friendly and helpful staff.
We visited family in Winchester and booked two rooms. The staff were friendly and efficient, The service station is small enough to be easy to get around and nothing's too far away. We have stayed before, on the South side, but easily navigated the service roads between the two. Very good value.
Adequate for overnight stay no frills hotel.
Limited access
Make sure that you get the right side of the road - the postcode is the same for the hotels on both the northbound and southbound carriageways. Was a useful stop off on our way for an early start in Southampton
Well, you get what you pay for so wasn’t expecting the ritz but the hotel is actually quite run down. It’s got an awful smell of damp and our room was dirty, I question whether our room was even cleaned before we checked in because it was full of rubbish. The staff are not friendly at all. I went to the front desk in the early hours to get some snacks for my toddler as he was hungry but could not walk across the road to the service station as my daughter was still sleeping. The card machine was not working so I suggested paying on check out but I was told I could not take the items without paying, despite my child crying. I mean, it was £3’s worth when they could surely just charge it to the card I paid for the room with, not one million pounds. Luckily I had enough change in the room. The rooms are battered, falling apart. I just wish I paid extra for a better quality hotel.
Basic
Pretty run down hotel with a strong damp smell. The water was tepid and the bathroom fixtures have seen better days. The bed was comfortable though and the kids liked the biscuit selection.
Very simple - and cheap - accommodation when the family had to break a journey. The rooms were clean and importantly quiet. No luxury but a comfortable clean beds in a quiet room. Perfect for a nights rest.
Generally, room was good and spacious. Annoying details...NO sink plug....bed was very comfortable, room was clean...and good value. I will use again...Douglas.
Well what can I say about this delightful experience I visited recently.
As I opened the main door i was greeted by the stench of B.O that filled my airways coming from the reception area. Walking down the corridor to find my room looked something like a horror film, cobwebs and spiders and a ton load of moths hung from the ceiling and walls. I thought Halloween was a couple of months away yet! The door creaked open to a very basic looking room and bathroom which looked something out of the 1970’s but the mildew and damp was very impressing to say the least..
my son and I got into bed after discovering a Jack Daniel’s bottle found underneath his bed, a full bottle and I don’t think my 4 year old fancied that with his coco pops in the morning..
meanwhile.. my husband followed into bed half an hour later after he had a squat team in to help kill spiders and moths..
We scratched all night, slept with one eye open and was sure to check out as soon as possible.. this was a very interesting stay, a mixture of I’m a celebrity in the jungle and a few nights camping at Glastonbury.. sure to say I won’t be staying here again as it’s going to take a few therapy sessions to get over it…
OMG, where do I start
We arrived late on Sunday evening , and first thing we noticed was the strong smell of BO from the reception area… it was so strong it made you cough…. A member of staff needs to shower ….badly…
Soon as we open our bedroom door all we could smell was damp…
Bathroom area was dangerous, and shower water was boiling hot … and took a lot of messing about to get it right, you would have been left with no skin… burnt ..!!
Bed had clean linen, but the dead wildlife inside sheets wasn’t on my plans .. 2 dead spiders in my son’s bed … one in ours … room had so many moths , we spend 20 minutes smacking them… nightmare
On a very serious note our 4 years old grandson next bedroom found a half drank Jack Daniel’s bottle under his bed ….There room was worse than ours and smelt off urine… it was rotten
Monday morning 7 o clock down to reception in nightwear for a full refund we were checking out … after no sleep because all night long we scratched…. Bed bugs or fleas…
Macdonalds, Costa and the most expensive WH Smith’s I’ve ever come across , just crossed the road…
The place is just the pitts, and needs closing down …. !!!!
Only issue with this hotel is it’s the same postcode for north bound and south bound so need to double check as you can’t just rely on postcode to get you to the correct side as we found out and the customer behind us
We were greeted by a lovely lady who was very fond of dogs. She was embarrassed to inform us that there was a charge of £ 15 for our dog. No mention of this on the booking for!!!
The room was ok except for the chip on the floor and by the skirting board, which looked like a bogey! The beds were low and fairly uncomfortable. However, I suppose you get what you pay for.
This place was convenient to our trip . But local amenities like a pub were very restricted.
