Very good hotel in an excellent location.
Pros:

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We appreciated the location so near to our evening event, and it was great to have secured underground parking. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

There was some confusion about arrival time and whether arriving early attracts an additional $15 charge. Upon review of our bill, we realized we were double billed for arriving an hour early. Old House was very good about explaining their policy and refunding the second early arrival charge.

Quiet comfortable stay on the river in Courtenay.
Pros:

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite and it was very quiet and comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen. Bonus having a washer/dryer in the unit. Excellent location on the river.

Annual visit in Feb.
Pros:

Always a solid experience - staff are very welcoming. There is always fresh coffee and cookies at the door. I'm sure the gym would be excellent if there had been time to use. Rooms are always clean and presentable. Personally the bed is far too soft for my liking... my only complaint!

Fabulous stay at the Old House
Pros:

Very nice to have a suite with separate bedroom. We enjoy cooking our our meals and doing laundry when we need to. There was some noise from the piledriving happening on the river right out our windows, but wasn't overnight so didn't really effect our stay. It's a walk outside to get to the hot tub/pool if your staying at the Maple building so a bit inconvenient when it was raining.
