Mayur Residency

Light couldn't turn off at night. Towels were not supplied initially. Eventually switched to a different room with working light switch but towels were not clean. Service by employees was good.

Well located and standard acceptable - but on arrival there was a leak in our room, moved us but not to an equivalent room so it took sometime to sort out
Both evening and morning no hot water for shower - very annoying

Don't be fooled by the hyperbole, the deluxe is actually very very basic. Few a few dollars more, you can switch to the next tier, the premium I believe, which is quite a decent room. Breakfast aso very basic, but very helpful staff,

If you want a hassle-free experience, stay elsewhere. The staff here hardly speak English, the internet is limited on a daily basis, and anything above your accommodation is overpriced. It’s better to just pay extra for the amenities at a higher end hotel. You’ve been warned!!

Bra service och trevlig personal men hotellet hade enkelt kunnat öka sin standard med att tvätta (måla) väggar, tak och gardiner. Skicket på rummet ger ett sunkigt intryck.

It was a mixed experience staying in Mayur residency and have concern about daily housekeeping timeliness and cleanness which were not in satisfactory level. Reception stuffs and guards are efficient and much supportive. No where it was mentioned that it's has completely Vegetarian restaurant and non veg food is not allowed in the hotel.That putted us in challenge and have to adjust some how.

Apesar de anunciarem que o serviço de internet era "free wifi", cada hóspede só tem direito a 300MB por dia. Propaganda enganosa.

Fräscht och trevligt, stor och skön säng. Väldigt centralt, mitt i smeten. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Hög klass i förhållande till priset. God frukost. Tryggt.
Wi-fit var ganska långsamt och hade en mängdbegränsning. Lite lyhört mot gatan och korridoren.

This hotel is fine if one is looking for a business traveler. Family also can consider if it is for a night or two. Location is convenient. Food is average. Breakfast is also average. But the staff are good and helpful. Room upkeep can be improved. The nails from the wooden floor were up and hurting. The knob of fan regulator was missing. The a/c was blowing directly on the bed making it uncomfortable in the night to sleep and making the throat more dry.Unexpectedly there was a misunderstanding on the amount payable as the front office person wanted the tax to be paid over and above the amount confirmed by 'Expedia' site, even though the tax was specifically mentioned as part of the amount finally booked.

I stayed there for 2 days..the room no.354 had a very bad aircondition..rest of all it is nice to stay there..i ve complained lot and m sure that they will soon rectify it.by the way food, location, staff etc all is good..

Inget vidare bra hotel, dyrt ej värt priset.

Kolkata er en skitten, braaket og forutrenset by, man reiser ikke dit for ferie, men vi har venner der. hotellet hadde bare vegitarien mat, noe hotel.com ikke hadde orientering om paa sine sider. dette maa komme paa plass hvis vi skal bruke dem mer. ellers var hotellet ok.

Staff very nice, room very nice but bathroom let it down a bit not enough toilet tissue....when asked for more towels attendant gave us used one.....bathroom mat was very dirty indeed .....Indian cuisine for breakfast although it probably very nice an English selection would have been nice....People would just take toast out of toaster even though it was yours and staff were there......Very please staff would mind suitcases but as we had a midnight flight a later exist from the hotel would have been useful....Thank you for the stay....

Mayur Residency is a nice, clean place in the heart of Kolkata 5 minutes walk from New Market and 10 from Sudder street. All people were very welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable albeit with a strong, noisy AC. The area is quite noisy too and the rooms are not well insulated, my room was not on the street side yet I could hear loud horns and sounds from parties late in the evening.
All in all good price for value.

The hotel was good. I had chosen this hotel as there was work in that area. Small and decent hotel. Some things can be improved easily.
Instead of shampoo pouches a small bottle would be better. The shaving cream was not good. Liquid soap is better than soap bar. Also 2 soaps should be kept in the bathroom. The breakfast menu can be bettered.
The hotel is good an doesn't disappoint. Some small changes will make it better.

I spent six nights at this hotel. I chose it because it seemed to have a good value for the price and it's in a good location. It's only ten minutes walk from New Market- easy to get around by walking and there is plenty of public transport accessible for those who prefer it. The staff were friendly and eager to please. A manager asks each customer how things are going every morning and is careful to note and follow-up. The complimentary breakfast was very satisfying. I also ordered room service a couple of times, and the food was great, as well as the service.

I would note that I was the only foreigner staying there, and it's likely that most foreign tourists would probably do better in a four to five star hotel in Kolkata. For those of us used to living in South Asia, a clean room with working AC and bathroom with hot and cold water is usually sufficient, and the good service makes Mayur Residency a great place to stay. I would definitely choose it again.
