Tifakara by the Waterfall

Very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is beautiful, clean. Traveled with my family and had great time.

We got a brief view of the valcano our first day.

Amazing experience here. I stayed in the Tropical Forest Bungalow. Room was nice, AC was cold, the bed made a bit of noise when you roll over but was generally comfortable. I was nervous about that is partly outside shower but it was actually really calming. The workers here are what make the stay. Kevin, Esther, and Dilan did a great job taking care of me and my sister during our stay, recommending activities and practicing Spanish with us! The nature around the hotel was great. The breakfast had fresh coconut water each morning which I loved!!!

Dilan did a great job removing a friendly and harmless tree frog that was hanging out on our door!

We had the most amazing time. We would definitely come back here. Clean rooms, beautiful location, amazing amenities, and the food was top notch! We also love how it was centrally located to so many things. The service was also incredible - shout out to Esther, Kevin, Daniela, Dilan, and Antonio. Everyone was so helpful and friendly.

The room was beautiful and the bathroom had the most incredible shower, open to the rainforest air. Staff were welcoming, efficient and helpful. We highly recommend this boutique hotel to anyone staying in La Fortuna.
Restaurant food was also 10/10.

The hotel was beautiful, clean, and surrounded by lush tropical landscaping. The restaurant was excellent, and we especially enjoyed the fresh fruit at breakfast each morning. The location was perfect—just minutes from La Fortuna Waterfall and close to many local attractions.

We loved our stay at Ti Fakara! Our little cottage was very clean and the shower was amazing! The shower is not covered so you feel like you’re bathing in the rain forest! The staff were all so friendly and accommodating, especially Ester and Kevin. The breakfast was wonderful too. And only a 7-8 minute walk to La Fortuna waterfall. Highly recommend and I’m tough to please!

The room was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly, caring, and helpful. The food was delicious. The location is perfect. Grounds are beautiful. Try the passion fruit ice cream, Yum!

Truly. Hidden behind a very unassuming brick wall sits an intimate and cozy oasis. Only 17 rooms - from the grounds to the birds, the frog sanctuary to the incredible team, Tifakara is a true haven.

Dilan + Esther, first to greet us - such genuine warmth and hospitality. Dilan showed us to our room and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.

Within minutes of setting our bags down, we ran into Kevin at the pool area with a telescope to take a peek at a three-toed sloth in the tree outside of our room. Kevin turned out to be a lovely eye for our family into the frog sanctuary and surrounding flora and fauna. We ended up seeing our sloth friend 2 of our 3 nights and Kevin was so passionate in sharing photos, lights for viewing and details about it all. Thank you, Kevin!

Antonio, chef Daniel and the team were the ultimate dining team. We had the privilege of spending each morning with Antonio for 5-star prepared breakfasts and mid-morning coffee and cookies (did I mention the cookies?). Our teenage boys especially appreciated Antonio’s approachability and the time he spent answering questions and sharing the love for his country. Antonio has a genuine warmth and goodness. We felt at home and like family during our time with him.

The grounds, immaculate. Daily coffee and cookies that hit the spot after a morning outing. Our room, also immaculate with perfect towel animals each day - thank you, Angelo! The birds, frogs, sloths and even monkeys on the grounds - heaven. Most importantly…the people. Each and every person at Tifakara makes it a place worth writing about. They were part of treasured core memories for our family.

Me and my wife stayed a week for our honeymoon and had the best time. Hotel is clean, our room was amazing with super comfy bed, grounds felt like paradise and staff were very welcoming, friendly and couldn’t do enough to make sure we had the best times especially, Esther, Antonio (Christian) and Dani.
Would definitely recommend and would love to go back one day

Tuvimos una excelente estancia. El hotel es muy limpio, cómodo y espacioso, con instalaciones muy bien cuidadas que hacen que la experiencia sea realmente agradable. Desde la recepción y durante toda nuestra estancia, el servicio fue siempre amable, cálido y atento. Uno de los aspectos que más disfrutamos fue el desayuno fresco, abundante y delicioso. Queremos agradecer especialmente al chef Daniel y al mesero Antonio, quienes hicieron que cada mañana fuera aún más especial gracias a su amabilidad, atención y excelente servicio. También nos encantó poder observar ranas por la noche dentro de las instalaciones, algo que le dio un toque muy especial y auténtico a nuestra visita. Este hotel salvó nuestro viaje después de una experiencia no tan grata en un Airbnb. Desde nuestra llegada nos sentimos bien recibidos y pudimos disfrutar plenamente de nuestra estancia. Sin duda lo recomendaríamos a cualquiera que busque un lugar cómodo, acogedor y con un servicio excepcional. ¡Esperamos regresar pronto!

Entering Ti-fakara makes you relax immediately. Nestled in the jungle this hotel met all of our needs. The staff was fantastic. Dilan, Esther, Kevin, Antonio and Dannida were great. They always greeted us as family. Every activity they recommended or booked for us surpassed our expectations. Our room was very clean, the beds were super comfortable and the linens were soft. The open air shower was lovely and the hot tub on our patio was fabulous. The evenings were quiet and waking up to the sound of monkeys in the morning was special. They have a small spa and our services were so relaxing. I feel the price while not inexpensive was a good value. I would love to return and would highly recommend this hotel. If I forgot anyone I’m sorry. Everyone we interacted with was professional and friendly.

Excellent service, delicious food, and a friendly, welcoming staff made my stay unforgettable. The night tour was a fantastic way to experience nature up close, and the property was exceptionally clean. Highly recommend!
