The apartment was really spacious and great value for money. The pub and restaurant did great food. You can tell it’s been newly renovated and that the owner has made a big effort
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
Room was fine, nice breakfast, nice setting and environment
Bar closed at 8pm and all common areas closed at 9pm. WE managed to negotiate an extension but what are you supposed to do at night? Also they advertised kitchen as closed so we ate elsewhere - it was actually open.
It was it a lovely quiet location
The shower was not the best took a long time to warm up and not very clear how it works
The room was very cold and got colder had the night went on
Good location and food, with helpful and friendly staff. Great walks from the property with good directions provided
The location was very convenient.
No hot water in the morning. The bed was very low as well.
I had stayed before - about 18 months ago and saw some changes since then. Sining tables now in an area that used to have sofa’s. We liked the way this room had been decorated.
Had a pet friendly room (26) which was extremely shabby. Marks on walls. Dirty carpet (surprised to see carpet in dog friendly room and wasn’t nice walking round barefoot on dirty carpet)
Bed very uncomfortable. Shower terrible - weak water flow. Toilet broke down. Came back Sunday at 5 to eat. Food finished at 5. Went out to eat but came back by 8 to have a few drinks in the bar. Hotel was closed and locked up so had to spend the evening in the dreadful room. Wires from TV trailing everywhere and kept getting caught up in the kettle. Dangerous. TV didn’t work - neither did WIFI. We had gone to stay for the weekend as it was my birthday.
Sunday morning went for breakfast and it was cold. Inedible. Was asked if we wanted a fresh breakfast or just forget it. We chose a fresh breakfast. The replacement was at least warm but the beans were still congealed as if they had been in a pan for hours. (Preferred the buffet breakfast from previous stay). We had booked an accessible room and when the toilet broke down they suggested moving us to another room however none of the ‘outside’ rooms had been cleaned. The only room they could suggest was upstairs in the hotel. So not accessible!!!
This was the most depressing hotel stay ever. The worst room ever to have to sit in as everything was closed down by 5pm. Apparently they are revamping the rooms - but this one desperately needed revamping but hasn’t been done yet.
Liked the location for Peak hikes, and nice to have an on-site restaurant.
Had some problems with our room, on a fully booked Saturday night. However, management was very quick (and very nice) about making us happy. Thank you for that kindness.
Staff were friendly. Indian food on the menu was really tasty. Nice spacious feel to restaurant and outdoor areas. Tissington Trail can be accessed on foot from the back of the garden.
More info in rooms like when breakfast is served and details on the Tissington Trail
Access to the tissington trail.
Only one chair in the room
Asked for another but told none were available. Even though we spotted a stack in the room next to the restaurant
Excellent dinner. Beautifully prepared and presented.
Lovely location right on the tissington trail. Large room, clean ,comfortable, safe parking, delicious breakfast, friendly staff. Restaurant is fantastic and good value for money
The food was superb
nothing was particularly bad
Nice styling. Lovely bar.
The bed was horrendous. The mattress was so awful and cheap. There were springs in our backs and it was like sleeping without one. There was no hairdryer and when asked there wasn’t one available as they are all in the mains in other rooms. You could hear everything outside the room and you could hear the staff were hoovering from 7:45/8am. The room was boiling hot and there was no fan or air on or temperature controls for the room. The cost of the room for 1 night is far too high for what the accommodation was.
Staff were friendly and helpful
Room was small and dark
Recently refurbished so the interior was well furnished, in good condition. Food in the restaurant was good and the wine list was excellent, although the reds were expensive.
The breakfast was advertised on Booking.com as being £10 but it actually cost £13 and it was traditional English breakfast but not much choice. Service in the restaurant was very slow in the evening.
In a lovely location for great walks
Excellent stay at the end of Day 1 on a 3 day cycle tour 🙂
Access straight off the Tissington Trail, secure overnight storage for our bikes, comfortable stay and superb food.
Special mention for Declan who was incredibly helpful and welcoming, despite a very busy evening in the bar and restaurant - an asset to the New Inns 😀
