It was a bit warm in the Rooms but I get we are in summer time so not really unexpected.

Comfortable
Pros:

The room was what I was hoping for when staying with a toddler . Off the main stair well and quite enough not to disturb their sleep . I also thought the electric fan was a welcome bonus , especially during the warm nights which could have been very uncomfortable without

Nice hotel but avoid Mews rooms at all costs
Pros:

Stayed here before and always enjoyed it and rated it highly. High Street location and property character cannot be beaten.
This time however we were given a room in the Mews area and this was the problem

Cons:

Room in the Mews area was absolutely tiny - just enough room to walk around the bed, and the bathroom was also very cramped.
No fridge. No air con - just a cheap fan that didn’t even oscillate.
View of the car park watching the local children doing wheelies on their bikes in between the parked cars - not great.
Basically spent the night in a sweat box. I love this hotel but would not stay in a news room again.

Very expensive for a basic B&B.
Pros:

Cleanliness and good staff

Cons:

Uncomfortable during hot summer. Could not sleep at all. There was no AC. Only a little fan. Very expensive for a basic B&B. The room needs renovation. There was a rotten smell in the bathroom. Very old furnishings.

Pros:

The hotel is situated on the town square so access to shops, restaurants, etc is easy. Parking behind the hotel is convenient. Breakfast was very good.

Cons:

The hotel chares premium rates but doesn't provide air conditioning or a room fridge. This was important as our room was on the top floor and the temperature reached 30°C during our stay. A desk-top fan was provided but this made little impact on cooling the room down.

An ok stay at the Fleece, didn't quite tick all the boxes.
Pros:

This was a lovely looking place right in the heart of Thirsk. The downstairs part of the hotel is nicely appointed. The evening meal was of a good standard and three was a wide range of drinks on offer. Our room was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was generally good with an excellent shower. Plenty of parking around the back.

Cons:

The room, although nice, was rather small, double yes, but small in my opinion. The room was one of the 'mews' rooms and it looked out over the carpark. Not the best but most looked as though that was the view. Uncertain if I had booked a 'budget double'? The sink in the bathroom was ridiculously small for a bathroom, it was the sort you'd find in a downstairs toilet! I was headbutting the mirror whenever I cleaned my teeth over the sink! After returning from a long walk I'd head for the shower at around 4pm, unfortunately on both days there was no hot water due to boiler problems! Within a short while it was back on though.
