Van der Valk Hotel Nazareth - Gent

Uitstekend hotel voor zakelijke overnachting. Badkamer is in recente jaren mooi gerenoveerd, matras zakte bij mijn kamer beetje door. Geen geluidsoverlast van snelweg, ook niet met kamer aan die kant. Wel wat gehorigheid vanaf de gang. Ontbijt prima, wel erg aan de prijs. Daarvoor zou er wel een verse sinaasappelsap machine geplaatst mogen worden. Personeel vriendelijk, maar algehele staat van het hotel voelt wat gedateerd aan in vergelijking met andere Van der Valk hotels.

Das Zimmer war groß mit Terasse. Mir war nicht klar, dass das Hotel an einem Autobahnparkplatz liegt. Das finde ich nicht so optimal.

Beautiful hotel, exceptionally well maintained. Easily accessible from motorway, yet backing on to peaceful Forest paths lined with ripening blackberries. Vey helpful staff, giving friendly personal service - special mention for the young man on Reception who kept our iPad on charge while we were enjoying the excellent buffet breakfast - and monitored our departure to make sure we didn’t leave without it!

Fine for an overnight stay next to the highway, but disappointing for a Van der Valk hotel.
Some good points: easy location, ample free parking, and large rooms with balconies. However this hotel clearly isn’t run to the same high standards as others in the chain. The decor has bumps, scrapes and marks everywhere, and it’s not acceptable to let black mould grow in the shower.

Really outdated and not a nice feel at all. It is super expensive for what you get, the food at the buffet is very average and the service is very robotic. Very disappointing as this was an expensive bongo voucher for a birthday gift and we deserved better!

Everything is nice expect the service in the restaurant... I had to wait almost two hours on my food and a half hour for a drink. The server was not nice and kept walking across us. Everything is good except the experience in the restaurant is terrible

Had two rooms for our stay. One of the rooms had *no plugs* available for the two guests there. They went to the reception to enquire about it. The staff offered a single industrial extension cord, instead of offering another room. The staff rather proposed to pay an extra 25 euros to switch rooms, which is unacceptable. It is up to the hotel to provide plugs in a room.

Later, the staff said that all of the rooms were booked up, so it was not possible to change rooms anyway. Turns out, the lack of plugs were not the only issue. The room had no hot water. The guests went to the reception again (another staff member was now there), and surprise, they were now moved to another room (for free). So the other staff member just lied about the availability of the rooms, and refused to move the guests to another room when she could have done so. Unacceptable behavior.

De kamers hebben een hele oude interieur en de staat is niet top, ook heeft de kamer geen koelkast. De gangen en kamers ruiken niet heel fris. Badkamer is ook heel oud, en een kleine douche. Onze airco tikt en lekt water. Het hotel zit gelegen aan de snelweg, maar je merkt niks qua geluid van rijdende auto’s.

Het ontbijt en service is verder heel goed.

Heel fijn verblijf voor een doortocht. Alles zeer netjes en in orde, het plafond van de badkamer kan een likje verf gebruiken.
Super aanbod van ontbijt ook!

I am a frequent traveler and I have been to several Van der Valk in my years, and always happy. My favorite hotel of all times is actually a Van der Valk. Oh man, this one disappointed me big time.
First the facilities: They are outdated. Rooms are from late 1990's, mattresses are squashy and low with 2 one-person beds side by side that keeps separating. The grounds smell like sewage and when it rains, it smells like wet old carpet all over the hotel.
Second, the staff is beyond incompetent. Some are okay of course but overall it's bad. You ask question or answers theirs and they either do the opposite or forget about it. My coworkers had to chase the servers in the restaurant to order or get proper silverware. Also they could not cook the meat properly and had to return the meat twice, and we are served left overs in the morning for breakfast when we wake up early (those harden pancakes and soggy fruit salad !!). When you go to the frontdesk to ask for food recommendation, the answer you get is "open internet". I asked twice thinking she did not understand me, but her English was pretty fine when she started harassing me later that evening after I found food on Internet. Location wise, it's not great but you should know what to expect when you book... but when it says by the highway, I did not expect entering a Total petrol station on a rest area to access the hotel. That was the least of the problems.

Et meget koldt værelse . Et større TV ville være godt. Og så kunne det hænge i midten af værelset. Hang ude i højre sidde af værelset..

Verry sad place... I would advice you to stay away from this manic place! The food was just ok, but there were a lot of mistakes being made... Also the rooms were outdated...

The restaurant leader was seemed verry confused and all over the place...
