Хороший отель для бизнес путешественников. Прекрасное расположение, отличный завтрак, хорошее обслуживание. Большой фитнес зал.
Loved our days at the Shangri-La UB. They were so accommodating for early checkin and checkout. Beautiful spa and beautiful room.
We stayed at the Shangri La for 5 nights and here are our thoughts:
Arrival: There were no bellmen to assist with luggage.
Room: We stayed in a premium room. The room was comfortable, sleep quality was excellent. The view overlooking the Choijin Lama Temple was nice. However, the couch and carpeting had many stains and needed to be replaced. After returning from sightseeing, we found our room not serviced. We had to call the front desk TWICE to get housekeeping to clean our room.
Cafe Park: Breakfast is served here. The food choices were plentiful and the servers were attentive. There were many choices for both Western and Asian food.
Naadam: We ate here several times. The food was good. The only complaint is that the service was lacking. It took a while to have someone come and take our order. Once done eating, plates weren't cleared.
Lobby Lounge: A catastrophe. There were so many people that the employees couldn't keep up. Everytime we visited, we waited and waited with no service. Finally, we had to find an employee to clean our table and then another employee to come over and take our order.
Club Lounge: We had the privilege of using the club lounge for 2 nights maybe because I'm a member? The lounge was beautiful. Breakfast options were small. Happy hour from 5-7pm was a one star. The food was always cold. You could pour yourself a beer and wine. All other alcohol (gin, vodka, rum, etc.) was in a machine where you push a button and your alcohol pours out. How tacky! All employees we encountered in the club lounge weren't friendly at all. Any request was perceived as a chore by them.
Departure: The front desk was able to arrange a taxi to the airport at 3am. Well done!
In summary, the Shangri La is the only five star option in Ulaanbaatar. In our opinion, the customer service is so lacking. Most employees we encountered looked like they didn't want to be there. No one greeted us with hellos or smiles or went the extra mile to see if they could do anything for us. If another five star hotel opens someday, the Shangri La is going to need to up their game.

The Shangri La is a very nice hotel! The location is walkable to many attractions and the design of the hotel is gorgeous. The lobby itself is so impressively grand. The customer service is top notch - very warm and friendly.
The hotel is about an hour from the airport and it all depends on the traffic, which can be really bad.
The hotel breakfast was outstanding - a very god mix of local and Western foods.
2 night stay in room 1911. Loved my stay. May in the Executive Lounge was very helpful. Highly, highly recommended! Great location!
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. This is probably the most luxurious hotel in the capital. Service was a bit patchy but room was nice and what you would expect from a Shangri La hotel. The hotel is attached to a mall and very near the main Shukbatar Square. A comfortable based to explore the capital.
We came to UB for business conference. The location is ok as you can walk to a few attractions. However, very disappointed with service level. Room not cleaned up for 2 out of five nights that I stayed. Colleagues got the same problem.
On the way back, hotel booked a taxi for us. Seemed to be ok until the driver hit roadside curb with no reason as no other car nearby. Police came back and took some photos. Driver left the car on the left lane which supposed to be for fast car.
Very elegant rooms
