Kithala Resort

The hotel is beautiful, the view and the rooms are fantastic, the pool with the view to the rice fields, and nature. The best is the staff, gentle, smiling and too kind.

We had a fantastic two night stay at Kithala Resort. The room, the views, the facilities and the staff were all first class and I would whole heartedly recommend to anyone.

Had such a wonderful stay at Kithala Resort. The view was absolutely breathtaking. waking up to that scenery felt like a dream. The peaceful, quiet environment made it the perfect place to truly relax and unwind.

What made the experience even better was the incredibly warm and welcoming staff, who went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a calm and refreshing getaway.

Lovely eco-conscious resort with nice swimming pool and expansive views over nearby rice fields. Very attentive staff and large rooms with balcony outlook. Delicious buffet and set menus, and great coffee.

Nice rooms friendly atmosphere and good location for the yala park.

Stayed here one night but everything has been lovely! All the staff, including the restaurant staff, are so helpful and kind. The resort and view is beautiful, with so many birds and well kept grounds. The food was great and they did us a packed brunch for our morning safari, which we also arranged through the hotel. Would definitely recommend for a lovely place to relax and unwind with nature.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. However the rooms were very disappointing (we had 2). The bathroom was absolutely appalling as the drain smell was very strong in the bathroom and into the bedroom. It almost made us feel sick. The staff tried to fix it for us but pouring stuff down the drains didn’t work. The light in the ceiling of the bathroom flickered so we could not use it. There was no ceiling lights in the bedroom. The aircon only partially worked. Food in the restaurant was ok. Overall I would not recommend this accommodation.

A lovely setting and very attentive, friendly staff. A very relaxing and comfortable intimate hotel to use as a base for a Yala safari.

We arrived at the hotel in the evening and were so happy with the welcome, the service at the front desk as well as the restaurant - special mention to Imasha.

Wow! What an incredible hotel! The view is magnificent, the setting is fabulous, and the staff is amazing. We had to leave early to go on a safari, and they prepared breakfast in a box for us to take along. The bar service was excellent as well. The only less positive point was the food, which, although very tasty, was too spicy overall for a tourist.

Hats off, to those involved in setting up this great location for a very romantic dinner. The food was very fresh and delicious and cooked to perfection.
Staff was great and went out their way to offer us a great night.

Lovely hotel with views overlooking the paddy fields. Staff were all welcoming and attentive although service was sometimes a bit slow. The food was good although there was a very small choice of desserts (compared to all the other hotels we had stayed in). We wanted to buy a bottle of wine and asked for one from the menu - they didn’t have that one or the other 2 Sauvignons at the similar price so brought out one they didn’t have which was over 3000 srp more! We suggested that they could offer this at the same price as the one we wanted as it wasn’t our fault they didn’t have it, but they were unwilling to do this which was quite disappointing.
Other than that we enjoyed our short stay

The location was beautiful and had lovely views over rice fields. The staff were very welcoming and generous throughout our stay. The room was airy and had a large comfortable bed with a balcony overlooking the lake and pool. The bathroom was clean and had a decent size shower (although due to having no base the water sometimes went beyond the shower door into the main bathroom floor). Large choice of options for meals whether on the buffet or a la carte menu with local dishes and international choices on offer. Overall a great relaxing environment to spend a portion of our trip. We didn't use the pool but it looked sparkling clean and had loungers around for casual relaxing/sunbathing as well. It was a convenient place from which you can easily visit the national parks for safari and the staff are more than happy to help arrange this for you alongside offering a packed breakfast if leaving before the buffet time.

Beautiful location, fabulous staff, comfortable rooms but could do with a little modernisation.
The restaurant staff were particularly helpful, and Imasha went to great lengths to ensure we got all we required.

The place is wonderful. Perfect for anyone looking to relax and unwind. The staff is exceptional. True testimony to the hospitality of Sri Lanka.
Imasha was particularly attentive and was soon training the younger staff with great care.

Great stay. Imasha was really friendly at breakfast and dinner. Comfortable rooms and a great location for safari. Would recommend to anyone for a few days whilst traveling the country.
