Carpet was outdated and a bit dirty, perhaps due to pets being allowed but overall was a great stay.

We recently stayed at the Rivelyn Hotel in Scarborough and overall had a really pleasant visit.
The room itself was a little tired and dated in places, but it was clean and well maintained, and the beds were incredibly comfortable which made for a really restful night’s sleep. The bathroom was a pleasant surprise too – it had a large shower with plenty of hot water, actually better than some I’ve experienced in much pricier hotels.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, which always makes a stay more enjoyable, and the breakfast was tasty and good value for money with a nice selection to start the day.
The only small negative for us was the hotel entrance, which looked quite dirty and unappealing. It would really benefit from fresh door mats, a proper clean down and perhaps a fresh lick of paint. First impressions really do set the scene when you arrive somewhere.
That said, we would definitely stay here again. The location is excellent, particularly if you're visiting the Scarborough Spa, and the comfortable bed alone made it a worthwhile stay.
Location
The kitchen closes early, but most importantly, the Wi-Fi does not reach across the entire building
