Waking up WITH BEDBUGS. Lost time from work due to bites and wasn't offered any compensation or alternate room. Took almost two weeks to get 80%of my money back

Very friendly staff, with a great location close to Rockport's downtown area. Loved seeing a microwave in our room, don't see that too often anymore in hotels! Clean, small but okay continental breakfast, cozy firepit area and pool.
The beds here are terrible! I don't know if it was just our room, but my friend and I had awful mattresses in ours, with big divots right in the middle of them. If the hotel changed their mattresses to newer ones I would love to come back because everything else was great.

Smelled like a dog in the room and the front desk morning lady wasn’t very pleasant
There was a hazard situation of some sort shortly after we arrived. Police and fire trucks were dispatched. Apparently fire crews were up on the roof of the main building where we were located but no emergency evacuation was sounded for the guests. That was extremely concerning. Does that reason alone I would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone

The staff were friendly and responsive. The property is well maintained.
The first room had some issues. 1) toilet wouldn't flush; I was able to fix it; 2) something bit me multiple times to the point I requested another room.
I really like this Inn...friendly staff, lobby fireplace going early and late, large comfortable rooms, nice breakfast room with coffee and other breakfast items. For walkers- we left our car parked at the Inn and walked all over town...Headlands, Mill Pond, Front Beach, Bearskin Neck. Great way to get your steps in the beauty and ocean air of Rockport!
Only issue was room was a bit too warm and couldn’t set temperature any lower. Other than that minor issue our stay was great!
