Abbiamo prenotato questo “resort” con mezza pensione per trascorrere in relax gli ultimi giorni del nostro viaggio in Sri Lanka. Avevamo scelto volutamente una struttura che si definisce *resort*, aspettandoci un livello minimo di comfort, servizi funzionanti e un ambiente adatto al riposo. Purtroppo, l’esperienza è stata deludente e non ha rispecchiato le aspettative.

Avevamo anche deciso di fare un upgrade alla suite, la camera migliore disponibile, per tre giorni e due notti, proprio per concludere la vacanza con un piccolo lusso. Il nostro interesse principale era la piscina, mostrata nelle foto come un punto forte della struttura. Appena arrivati, ci viene detto che la piscina è momentaneamente sporca e che sarebbe stata pulita nel pomeriggio.

Il pomeriggio però è passato, la piscina è rimasta nelle stesse condizioni, e così anche i giorni seguenti. In realtà, non era soltanto una questione di sabbia: l’acqua era visibilmente stagnante, torbida e piena di detriti. Era evidente che non veniva trattata da giorni, se non settimane.

Successivamente, abbiamo scoperto che l’impianto di ricambio dell’acqua non funzionava e che la piscina era ufficialmente chiusa nonostante ci venisse detto di poter comunque fare il bagno. Non lo diciamo solo per l’evidenza visiva, ma anche perché l’ascensore della struttura era ricoperto di cartelli che avvisavano gli ospiti di non utilizzare la piscina fino alla riparazione. Questo contraddice quanto detto dal personale al nostro arrivo, che ha minimizzato il problema. A quel punto ci siamo chiesti: era un guasto improvviso? Oppure la piscina è inutilizzabile da tempo, ma nessuno lo ha comunicato né indicato nella scheda della struttura su Booking, come giusto che fosse!

Ci è sembrato un modo molto scorretto di gestire la comunicazione con i clienti.

Great place to stay in Unawatuna!
Pros:

Fantastic location, with a great pool, all necessary amenities and nice staff!

Cons:

Can be a little confusing upon arrival - as often the gate is closed so had to go around the back - but not a problem at all!

Really we were not happy at this place, BUT for Sri Lanka it’s ok
Pros:

Location, hotel territory small but very nice, very good personal who try to resolve any issue, good breakfast and dinner (we bought HB meal plan) - but only for fit persons as the portions are very small

Cons:

2* as max, Not the same room as we booked (16 sq m instead of 25 as it is in Booking), dirty bathroom, dirty towels and bed linen, old and dirty furniture - renovations is required

Great hotel, location and staff.
Pros:

Great hotel at the quieter end of Unawatuna Beach. Staff were excellent. Breakfast was good. The small infinity pool with loungers on the roof is a great place to watch the sunset or swim if the sea is too rough.

Cons:

Food and drink could be more competitively priced. Not this hotel’s fault but the 5 star carbuncle of a hotel that dominates the opposite end of the Unawatuna beach spoils the previously classic arched tropical beach view from Joe’s resort. It opened a couple of years ago and looks like a office complex that has landed from space rather than in the tasteful low-rise Sri Lankan style employed elsewhere ( like at Joe’s resort! ). Pity the protests to prevent it’s construction were unsuccessful.

Showed us a room with sea view and balcony. Did not get the balcony. That is misinformation for marketing purposes. Hot water was not working from 930pm until late nor in the morning (even after they said they fixed it)

Trevlig och serviceinriktad personal, bra läge vid stranden och positivt med den fräscha poolen på taket. Vårt rum låg nära gatan vilket gjorde att trafiken var lite störande.

Das Hotel ist sehr nett und liegt direkt am Strand. Das Personal sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Leider hat die Tiolettenspülung nicht immer einwandfrei funktioniert und für den Safe habe ich jedes Mal zirka zehn Anläufe gebraucht, um ihn aufzubekommen (ich habe natürlich jedes Mal den richtigen Code eingegeben). Ansonsten ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt.

Awesome beach hotel
Pros:

Located on the beach, the resort has all that a beach bum would desire............the flip side is that it's also on the road.............so traffic at night can be disturbing.
It's neat, clean and has all the basic amenities for a comfortable stay!
