Pros:

We enjoyed the location, the high ceilings, and the hotel's architecture. The breakfast staff were really kind and welcoming. I also appreciated that the hotel changed our room after we were initially assigned a windowless one.

Cons:

The front desk staff were not particularly welcoming. They rarely acknowledged us when they entered or left the hotel. Don’t expect assistance with luggage, directions or travel advice. The breakfast was disappointing. The selection was very limited and not particularly appetizing, especially considering the room rate. Finally, the bed sheets should be replaced, as they were beginning to yellow.

Pros:

The hotel itself is a lovely building and full of plants, and good public space for hanging out. The restaurant is very good and not difficult for us to get good vegetarian food.

Cons:

We were put in a very small room for the two of us with a window onto the external corridor. It was a busy time being the jazz festival but I had booked the room well in advance and expected to have a nice room with some space in which to comfortably sit. I was disappointed.

Hôtel de charme, havre de paix niché au bord du fleuve
Pros:

Le charme de l’hôtel, son calme, la vue sur le fleuve, les chambres soignées et spacieuses. Le restaurant était excellent, l’un des meilleurs du Sénégal selon nous. L’hôtel se trouve dans une ancienne maison coloniale restaurée avec soin et est véritable petit havre de paix. Des patios et espaces lecture sont à disposition permettant de profiter pleinement de la vue sur le fleuve. Les chambres sont climatisées et le personnel aux petits soins.

Cons:

Notre salle de bain était un peu exiguë, ce qui peut être difficile pour les personnes de grande taille. Le petit déjeuner était très complet mais aurait pu être un peu plus qualitatif. Cela n’a pas affecté la qualité de notre séjour qui reste un 10.

Havre de paix authentique
Pros:

L'Hôtel Siki est un établissement charmant, authentique, simple mais terriblement efficace ! Nous y avons trouvé une atmosphère extrêmement paisible et reposante. Tout le personnel est accueillant et d'une grande gentillesse. Mention spéciale pour le monsieur (qui semble être le propriétaire) qui venait toujours nous saluer chaleureusement et nous souhaiter un bon appétit.

J'ai eu un immense coup de cœur pour la terrasse et le balcon qui offrent une vue magnifique sur le fleuve Sénégal et le fameux pont Faidherbe. Côté cuisine, nous nous sommes régalées : le petit-déjeuner ainsi que les plats du dîner étaient vraiment très bons.

L'emplacement est également idéal pour la culture, notamment pour visiter le MuPho (Musée de la Photographie) : celui-ci est divisé en 8 points, et 7 d'entre eux sont très facilement accessibles à pied depuis l'hôtel.

Cons:

Le seul petit bémol a été le volume de la prière très tôt le matin qui nous a dérangées une nuit. Cependant, cela est totalement indépendant de l'hôtel, c'est le charme et la vie locale de Saint-Louis ! Pensez juste à prévoir des boules Quies si vous avez le sommeil très léger.
