Been here many times now with three visits planned in 2026. Came for Christmas and New Year, I can only repeat my previous reviews, perfect location for bars, restaurants and the subway. Super rooms, has everything you need, great bathroom and shower. Breakfast is excellent, can get busy but the team have it all under control, shout out to Ervan and also Priya (apologies if I have spelt your name wrong) for her friendly attentive welcome and conversation. This is a super hotel.
Average- poor, no coffeemaker in room, no Iron in room. limited towels. Fridge didn't cool well enough without leaving the cabinet door open, noisy Mattress springs. Good Location.
We went to Berlin for the Christmas Markets on a BA holiday with our granddaughter. Staying at the hotel RUI Plaza, it was one chosen from the BA list. The hotel and flight were amazing value for money. The room in the hotel was very comfortable, the bed was good with a separate space for our granddaughter. There were no extras, and only 1 bottle of water in the fridge. We were on the 12 th floor and although the hotel was very busy it was very quiet, one never had to wait long for a lift. The bar did very good light meals, we ate there twice. Breakfast was expensive but looked really good, we chose to walk to a local coffee shop which was much cheaper. The reception staff were excellent and very helpful, they advised us which restaurants to eat in within walking distance, both were excellent. We were able to leave our luggage on the last day after we had checked out. We were very glad we went back to Berlin which has changed enormously since we were last there, the week the wall came down. The Christmas markets were plentiful but nothing like as good as the ones in Vienna and the city itself is rather cold and stark, having been almost completely rebuilt. We would not go back again but would recommend the hotel RUI Plaza to anyone visiting.
Had the best stay in the Riu Plaza.
The hotel is nice and situated in Schöneberg.
Great breakfast and clean rooms with a great view.
Beautiful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Great location close to shops, restaurants and public transport. The breakfast was exceptional with something for everyone. The room was lovely, very modern with a great view across the city. The bed was so comfy. Will definately return.
Perfect location. Friendly staff, tasty food, clean room. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience.
We stayed here for 3 nights, on arrival we were upgraded to a suite, the suite was superb a bedroom with bathroom shower and toilet, and a seperate lounge, with sofa tv and desk, aldo morewardrobes, despite gaving wardrobes in the bedroom, and another tv,
The breakfast buffet is extensive, with full english and continental, and all the staff are friendly and helpful.
The bar are is cosy, and does nice food, and they have a shop area at reception.
The underground is about 300 yds away, and there are plenty of restaurants locally.
Overall it was a fantastic stay at the Riu plaza berlin.
Thanks to all.
Although the communal areas where clean the room was less so. There were white streak on the toilet wall when we arrived and they were still there 3 days later
Nice hotel, good location, close to train station or good for walking to sites. Helpful and friendly staff especially down in the restaurant/Bar. A negative the pillows were very small and only one each with 1 spare in the wardrobe. Would have been nice to have a big king duvet rather than 2 singles. Over all good hotel
Well located hotel only a five minute walk from the Ubahn. This made it easy to get to from the airport. If you can walk through the Tiergarten to the sights, its beautiful. Staff were very welcoming, comfortable beds and facilities. Everything you could wish for was available for breakfast and the coffee was great. The only niggle was the air conditioning kept kicking in and the weather was cold.
Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff, Service with a smile and very helpful in guiding us to the places we wanted to see, Service staff work so hard even coming in daily to make our beds, Breakfast was exceptionally good value and catered for everyone's taste in food, The waiting on staff were very efficient and pleasant ensuring we started our breakfast with a beverage at our table before we helped ourselves to the self service food hall, My daughter took advantage of the Gym on the second floor, Condiments where readily available at the desk if we required any extra to take to our room, We wish we had stayed longer than 3 days, Around the hotel is ample of shops to visit and cafes and restaurants for staying local and eating out
High-quality breakfast, generous portions, and the fact that it's buffet style.Helpful staff ready to fulfill any guest request
This hotel was another great hotel by RIU Everything was spot on. Could have asked for more from our arrival to departure
Really enjoyed our stay at the Riu Plaza in Berlin, so central and accessible, very comfortable for our family with a spacious suite and two bathrooms. Not a fan of toilets with a mere sliding door between it and your bedroom (as the bathrooms themselves have no door) and the TVs were outdated and only had German language channels but they were the only two niggles I had with the place and I’d book again regardless. Staff were so friendly and accommodating, happy to lend me a bottle opener from the bar on one occasion. Breakfasts were delicious too.
The hotel is very nice, clean and quiet.
Service is excellent stuff are super helpful.
I had some misunderstanding with the heating system and they explained me how to fix it.
The hotel was great, the location was perfect, close to the metro and the view from the 15th floor was amazing.
The breakfast buffet was delicious and fresh. Free parking is an added bonus. A wonderful stay, I recommend it.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, well placed close to the lovely Wittenbergplatz U-Bahn station making it easy to get anywhere fairly quickly. It was also well positioned for the Kaiser Wilhelmin Memorial Church, the zoo, KaDeWe store, and Tiergarten making for a lovely walk in autumn. We graded per below as there were issues with all categories. Breakfast excellent, choice and quality of food for this type of hotel and breakfast staff very polite and attentive. Reception was efficient and friendly on check-in but on check-out we were not greeted or thanked for the stay, or asked about our stay which was strange; just a dismissive “that’s all”, not even a “bye”. Room was very big but left a large area of hard flooring which was clean but quite badly chipped; TV was old and clunky and the remote did not work properly making quick navigation impossible. The entrance area where safe and clothes hanger + mirror were had no lighting making it difficult to see what you were doing. Bed was huge but a bit lightweight making noise when moving in it, pillows were thin and very soft which was inadequate causing neck strain. Nice to have 2 sinks. Shower was good, separate toilet but there were a lot of white marks on lower wall. Towels were small and old which was not great for a hotel at this price point. Toilet paper a bit cheap making it feel more budget quality. “Slippers (which we get in most hotels) were not provided which was poor to say how much hard flooring there was in the room. The fridge was very poor, we could not get anything properly chilled in it. View from the room over the city was great and lifts were plentiful and efficient. We stayed 4 nights and only received one bottle of mineral water, there is no automatic refreshment of tea and coffee but you can get from the reception (although they had run out of English breakfast). I asked about the water and was told this was company policy and we should drink from the tap “which is very nice in Berlin”. This just made for a negative feeling about Riu hotels. Room service was also mixed. Overall, we did enjoy our stay despite these issues and had a feeling that the overall value for money was ok especially when booking direct (significantly more expensive through Booking for example).
I recently stayed at the RIU Plaza Berlin for a 1 nights stay and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we checked in, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean and had a great of the city. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Schöneberg district of Berlin
Our stay couldn't have been more enjoyable. From the ease of check-in, the spacious room and spectacular views to the delicious morning breakfast buffet. Exceptional.
The Riu Plaza Berlin is an excellent value hotel overall.
We've now stayed here several times at the Riu Plaza, overall we really like the hotel because its excellent value for money.
Extremely clean throughout.
Great check in/check out.
Housekeeping is great.
Location is amazing and near to literally everything & very central.
Our observations (as Riu Diamond members) are...
The hotel Bar is poorly situated, tucked away in the back of the hotel. This area should just be used to extend the breakfast restaurant & make it larger.
The bar should be situated in the front of the hotel in the corner of the building (where the Conrad electrical shop used to be)
Riu should just rent/buy/take over this corner section of the building and situate the hotel bar there. It would look amazing & they'd gain custom from people walking past & coming into the hotel bar to drink & spend money!
Our other Observation after staying here several times now is the scaffolding up the front of the hotel & visible building area right out of the front of the hotel. It's been going on AGES! & looks unsightly (apparently due to some problems with the refurbishment of the building & fire regulations with said refurbishment a few years ago)
Apart from these pointers... a great hotel.
