A great valued overnight in the Coulee region. Comfortable hot tub and a tasty breakfast. Would stay there again if visiting West Salem/Onalaska
Located right off the interstate. Pool was nice.
Beds were ok. Could be nicer.
Reasonable price
Staff upon arrival was rude. Bed comforter had a blood stain on it. Bathroom was dirty.
We got the hotel February 14th and the toilet was not clean. It looked like someone had diarrhea and it leaked out on the front of the bowl. We went to the front desk and my wife stated that the toilet was not clean. The gentleman at the front apologized and said that he would get it cleaned while we were away. He kept apologizing and my wife did not have an opportunity to state what was dirty on the toilet, but guess that doesn't matter. You would think the employee would clean the whole thing. We came back from our event at 9pm, and they had taken the one dirty towel out of the bathroom and replaced it. I looked at the toilet and it still had the diarrhea stain on the front. We were going to call back down, but we did not want the hassle and were tired, so I cleaned it myself. When on my hands and knees cleaning, I noticed that there was diarrhea stains in the bowl as well, but were on the back of the bowl and close to the seat area. I cleaned both areas so my wife would stay in the room. When we got back to the hotel at 9pm, there were also 20-25 people in the lobby area/breakfast area. They had coolers of alcohol and they had food sitting out and were very loud. Our room door was on the second floor facing this area. We went to bed at 10:15pm and this "party" was still going on. The chatter and laughter was very loud. The last big outburst was at 11:15pm. I am unsure if this was the end of the party or we were just exhausted enough that we fell asleep.
The King Sized mattress was not comfortable at all and they were more like the 80's style mattress. We only got a couple hours of sleep.
In the morning, the same group was out for breakfast and were very loud. Luckily we were already up. We went down to eat (7am) and the eggs and sausage were barely warm and were cold by the time we sat down to eat. Unbelievably, the same group of people were still laughing about something. The sign states in this area, that this is a quiet area from 10pm to 8am. I guess this does not apply to them or this hotel. We decided to leave immediately.
Thinking things would get better, they didn't. I checked out and thought, a coffee for the trip home would be nice. I was filling up a cup provided by the hotel when I heard a hotel guest state to one of the employees that the bottom of his cup came apart and it spilled everywhere. Talk about bad luck. We left the parking lot and stopped at the Shell station a block away so my wife could get a soda. While my wife was in getting a soda, I lifted my coffee and put it to my mouth and the bottom of my cup came a part too. HOT coffee all over my lap. As it was spilling everywhere, I tried to to put it back into the cup holder because as you know, this coffee is scorching HOT. So half of this HOT coffee is in my lap and leather seats, which means groin area "OUCH", and the other is all over my middle console and cup holder. We were at the gas station an additional 25 minutes trying to clean up this mess as well as trying to put on clean clothes. The coffee was in this cup for probably 5 minutes and then the bottom. Half of the bottom of the cup came a part from the rest of the cup.
So, I try to do a nice get away for my Wife and I for Valentines Day, and I get a dirty bathroom, then ask for the toilet to be cleaned and it still doesn't get cleaned. I have to do it myself but also notice that it is dirtier than I originally thought. Then the group in the lobby had no consideration for other guests. Also the hotel staff let this continue to at least 11:15pm. The mattress was awful. Then when breakfast was served, the same loud bunch was down there. Good Lord, you would think they would be hung over and sleeping in. I didn't even want to go down there and deal with them. Then when you do go down to eat, the food is cold. Lastly, I just wanted to get out of this joint, then the coffee cup falls a part and I get HOT coffee all over my“genitals” and leather seats as well as my center console. It got into my USB ports as well as the shifter area. Talk about a complete mess. The coffee was in the cup maybe 5 minutes. Just think what would have happened if I was on the interstate going 70 mph?????? This could have easily caused an accident.
So after everything is said and done, I had 14 hours of hell at this AmericInn. I have stayed at AmericInn's multiple times and this is by fat the worst ever.
I got home and I had to take a shower and put on new clothes. Now I am wasting my time writing this darn letter to let you know what a bad experience we had, when I should be taking a nap due to being totally exhausted from staying at this hotel.
My ask is what are you willing to do for us? I am wanting at least a full refund. Also to make sure the cups for coffee are looked into. The coffee is very Hot, and I was the second person that this had happened to that morning. Luckily the other gentleman was sitting at a table in the breakfast area and not in his car getting burned in area's you are not supposed to be.
Thank You

The couch cushions need a good cleaning. The Jacuzzi appears to have been out of order for some time.
