Pros:

Expensive hotel but they only have Thai Tv service the internet service is limited and when you leave you room all the power gets cut ie no fridge no recharge your phone, this is bad when you go out for the day and come back to your room for a cold drink you put there the day beforr its hot.
Hotel is out of the main town so no restaurant near by expect from the hotel.

Impersonal, Mechanistic "Service"
Pros:

Simply a Money-Gathering operation. Only designed for those that want to show how "Hi-So" they are! I wouldn't stay there again if they offered me a free room! Everything very Over-Priced and no local services other than in-house services.

Average hotel
Pros:

Stayed at this hotel recently initially looked ok when arrived at the hotel but as you look around this hotel is needing a bit of care and attention in places. The room was of a good size our room was on the 4th floor. Air conditioning took hours to get cool as they only give you one key so you can’t keep your room cool when your not there. Had a list of tv channels on a card which most of which were not available specially English speaking ones. Went to have a look at the pool as wanted to go in it wash really dirty not looked after or cleaned stuff floating in it no sun beds pretty poor really not good if you can’t clean your pool for guests. Bird droppings around the pool also. And the towels look like there 10 years old.
Breakfast was ok not great tea was near the coffee but was cold both mornings went down.
Staff were friendly I wouldn’t blame them for the issues management obviously don’t check things at the hotel to make sure everything is good.

Obvious Investment in Rooms & (Bizarrely) Lobby Toilets
Pros:

All in all not a bad hotel, staff quite friendly and the room seems to have been recently upgraded (probably because the sudden popularity of Buriram as a sports hub means it is not worth having comfortable, modern feeling rooms).

Otherwise a pretty normal three star hotel, would have had four bubbles except they would have charged us for extra water in the room which is just silly (even sillier they took us to a supermarket to buy our own - this is good service but I count local spirit rather than hotel training for it).

There are certainly prettier and better hotels in town but perhaps not for the same price, if you're looking for a comfortable bed, clean bathroom and security close to town this would work.

Pool freezing cold
Pros:

WIFI in the room was good. There is no iron or ironing board available. Bed was a bit to firm, pillows to firm. The Safe worked until the last day when staff had to do a force open. Other room safes for my other family members had to have batteries replaced. Checking safe batteries should be part of the checklist for housekeeping. Swimming pool is hidden from the sun and the water was freezing cold. Breakfast was OK, however the bain-maries do not have the flame underneath to keep the food warm, the food goes cold. We attempted to tell the staff about the requirement to keep food warm but they did not understand. The egg chef fries eggs then leaves them in a tray to go cold. We insisted on having eggs cooked on the spot and then put on our plates for immediate eating. Only a few of the staff speak English. I do not recommend Alvarez hotel for non Thai speakers. Hotel is some distance from the main spots of Buriram city and transport is required to go to restaurants. Hotel mini bus is available at reasonable cost. Car park is huge.

Worst hotel in Thailand
Pros:

This is definitely one of the worst hotel in Thailand. Very poor customer service and response time.
Lousy environment and the staff could not care less. There are many much nicer boutique hotels in Buriram who are hungry for your business.

large hotel good car park
Pros:

Overall stay was good, large room was comfortable,
good large car park
breakfast was ok, had good egg station for fresh omelettes etc,
Tried evening restaurant once only as some of the menu not available, our food was slow to arrive and the rice arrived 10 minutes after the main food which was cool by then,
when we had nearly finished our main meal staff came and told us that the fried chicken we had ordered more than 30 mins earlier was not available, this was not a good experience so we ate out for the rest of our stay.

The case for a pillow menu
Pros:

If you like big, fat pillows, this is the hotel for you. No other sort was available. But there is a nice reception area, good service from receptionists and bellboy, modern keycard, big airy room with sofa, safe, nets behind curtains (overlooking car park). Sliding door in room had notice “Close door before go to bed to save energy reduction”. I was woken by loud TV noises in next room, and the rain shower (tall for once) squeaked noisily. For such a smart hotel, I couldn’t believe the tatty, dirty carpet in the lift! But breakfast was great – real coffee with milk, a wide choice of Thai food and, outside, a chef would cook whatever you wanted.

Great place to stay
Pros:

Cracking hotel in a place where you would expect to find only back packing shacks.
Great service, excellent staff
Five star hotel
I came on business and liked it a lot.
They have a new motor racing circuit that is fantastic, and a brand new football stadium that would give most championship clubs in UK a run for their money. All of it bearing the name Chang.
In fact Chang is a Thai beer manufacturer and they sponsor my team back home.. Everton.
This would make an ideal place to visit, and it's not one of those worn out by tourists type place either.

Nice business style hotel in Buriram
Pros:

Nice, fairly large hotel not far from the football stadium and race track. I stayed here only the one night post watching the Super bikes in February this year. For the location the price was good (1400bht per night) and they were pretty much full up.
I will attempt to book for next years race for sure as it is much closer than the hotel i used for the majority of my trip. Good sized room; nice shower, comfortable bed. Breakfast was great; huge choice, worth 400baht on its own! Evening meal, a steak, was horrid, maybe just a bad cut of meat? Nice outdoor pool but didn't get a chance to use it.

Ask for a room in the new tower
Pros:

This was the nicest hotel we stayed in during our road trip from Bangkok to the Cambodian border to visit ruins along the way.

We were offered an "opening special" of 1,200 Baht per room. Frankly I don't know how Buriram will have the traffic to charge much more.

Our biggest complaints were inconsistent hot and cold water in the showers, or no hot water at all.

Some of us had decent internet, some none at all.

Otherwise, we were all pleased with the rooms. And the breakfast was fantastic. There was a lady cooking eggs to order outside. She knew what she was doing. Inside was a nice buffet of fruit, salad bar, and wide variety of Asian dishes.

Frankly, if we were to return, we'd use this hotel as a base and take day trips to ruins in the vicinity.

After searching for dinner around the hotel and ending up eating at a night market, we all wish we had just eaten at the hotel restaurant which is rare for us.

No question, we'd stay here again

Nicely furnished and decorated new hotel
Pros:

Good sized room. Great security system with electronic door and lift locks. Great beds and linen. Modern decor. Good breakfast buffet. Only downside was no bar after 11pm and no beer in room fridge. Currently on special offer which makes it reasonably priced at 1400 baht/night.
