Rancho Pacifico

Rancho Pacifico knocks it out of the park! Treehouse Tamandua was incredible, infinity pool overlooking the whale’s tail was simply beautiful and every meal was amazing. Great variety, great taste, and I’d even go so far as to say the presentation was borderline spectacular. But most importantly it was the staff that made our stay near perfect. Every staff member should be commended for going out of their way to ensure every little need was taken care of.

I wish I had a better vocabulary to describe Rancho Pacifico. The privacy and seclusion of being in the rain forest, the wonderful staff who handle anything you require, the glorious food and cocktails, what's not to love? It was truly a fantastic and unforgettable week for my wife and I, and I highly, highly recommend. Do yourself a favour and spoil yourself for a stay at Rancho Pacifico!

Truly an unforgettable experience. It’s the staff the that make all the difference. Adrian and Henry went out of their way to make this so special for us. Don’t get me started on the food. Those pork ribs and steak with chimichurri sauce will live rent free in my head for a while.

We had a just magical, relaxing, adventurous experience at Rancho Pacifico. Every detail was clearly thought of, all staff was extremely friendly and service oriented. Will absolutely plan to be back.

My husband and I stayed at Rancho Pacifico for our honeymoon and it was incredible! We received complimentary champagne to celebrate which was so sweet. The hotel is beautiful, the staff were so friendly and accommodating and the food was absolutely delicious! Also it’s a small hotel with only about 20 guests which is really nice because it makes things more intimate and personal. We loved how the hotel was truly up in the jungle but you can look out and see the ocean and Uvita beach. The rooms were so nice and housekeeping would go in multiple times a day to keep everything clean and make sure you had everything you needed. Even though it isn’t cheap it was absolutely worth the price. We definitely would stay here again! Highly recommend!

This place is truly outstanding (my highest ranking) ! The Treehouse Tucan is beautiful, large, well appointed and very private with spectacular views and Tucan's right off the balcony. The food and service is also top notch and this area of Costa Rica is spectacular. Highly recommended! As is the ATV tour of the hills, streams, waterfalls and coffee plantation in the rain forest.

My partner and I just returned home from a week at Rancho Pacifico. This was hands down one of the best trips we have taken. From the moment we stepped into the resort, we felt relaxed and at home. Every prior review was accurate, this place is as good as it sounds.

We stayed in Treehouse Tucan which was very close the main area of the resort and very secluded and private. Every day, we would watch the sunset from our balcony and read on the swinging chair. The view was unmatched and the room was spacious and fit all of our needs.

We chose to do the all inclusive package which included massages, yoga, and three activities. I felt like it was worth the cost. Each meal was four courses and delicious. The drinks were creative and there was a good variety of options. For activities we did Corcavado National Park (1.5 hours by boat to get there), Water Repelling (our favorite), ATV Tour (prepare to get a bit dusty!), and we went to Nuayaca Waterfall (you can hike or get a ride), and on two days they took us to different beaches. We chose to not rent a car and work with them with transportation which was included in our package. That fit our needs and we never had an issue getting where we needed to go (or even go get sunscreen).

As others noted in prior reviews, what really makes this place special is the wonderful staff that we got to know each day. Henry and Adrian arranged all of our activities, and if we needed a taxi it was there within minutes. Andrey, Jason, and Vianney provided great service and we enjoyed our nightly conversations with each of them. We felt incredibly relaxed and loved the expansive view we saw each evening. With a maximum of about 20 people, you can go without seeing any people so if you like big resorts with a lot of people, this is not the resort for you. After a long year, this was just the vacation, adventure, and place we needed. We will be back!

My husband and two older children (ages 18 and 22) and I just got back from staying at Rancho Pacifico for eight nights and everything about the place far exceeded our expectations. We have stayed in 5 star properties around the world (Peninsula, Oberoi, 4S, etc) and this place matched their level of service. The food - prepared every night by a chef - is fresh, varied and flavorful. The grounds are impeccably maintained. But the best part is the service - the concierge team handled everything from excursions to transportation for us seamlessly so that we didn’t have to worry about anything and could just relax and enjoy. Staff was always available and happy to assist - whether it was to make us a fresh pot of French press before a 6am excursion or serve us a perfectly made ice cold martini at the bar after a long day of activities. At one point I needed a prescription medication, so the GM dropped everything, made some calls with his staff and personally drove me to the local pharmacy to help me pick up my medicine. Another time, my husband’s water sandals, which he needed for the following day’s rappelling excursion, ripped. One of the staff members took them home, fixed them, and returned them to him the next morning. I was near tears when we had to say our goodbyes and head back to the airport, but suffice it to say I’ll always remember the gorgeous sunsets and incredible, genuine warmth of everyone at Rancho Pacifico that made our holiday so special and unforgettable.

We had the MOST amazing time at Rancho Pacifico. There were only 2 drawbacks…

1. There is no liquid coffee creamer (e.g. half and half) in the rooms. This is the most minor nitpick of all time and we realize that. If anything, it’s a testament to how amazing our stay was.

2. The ride up and down the mountain can be rougher for those not initiated to rocky roads. It is an unpaved, rocky, mountain road and can jarring if you aren’t used to it. The views at the top are 10000% worth it, but it can be a deterrent for some. Or at least something to plan for each day (it’s not just a quick/easy/smooth drive down to town).

All in all, I couldn’t recommend this place enough. The service is unmatched. The views are sublime. The wildlife is abundant. The spa was fantastic. The restaurant was divine. The vibes were immaculate. Do consider this place for your next stay in Uvita!!

Traveled as a family with adult children. We booked an all-inclusive adventure package for a week’s stay. This was easily the most stress-free trip I’ve ever taken, all due to the amazing staff at RP. From the moment we stepped out of the airport they took care of absolutely everything: transportation, excursions, meals, baggage handling, housekeeping. They not only handled it all, they anticipated our every need. I’ve never encountered a finer group of resort staff! (Special mention to Jason, who made us feel at home immediately and went above and beyond all week!) We stayed in the Whale Tail villa plus two of the Treehouse units. All were outstanding accommodations with phenomenal views, beautifully updated, spacious with private outdoor areas included (porches, patios). Each place felt like your personal home in the rain forest - you couldn’t see any other rooms from your place, giving a very private feeling. Meals were great - incredibly fresh, delicious food; a nice variety to choose from for breakfast and lunch and a chef-curated four course dinner with a couple of main course options each evening. With a maximum guest capacity of only about 20 people the resort offers a relaxed, uncrowded environment with a pool area and lounge space where we could gather as a family, For those considering a stay, remember that you will be in the rain-forest/jungle. Expect some rain and humid conditions. But also the abundant wildlife that goes with that environment- we saw many birds right from our porch! We loved every minute of our stay. Thank you to the incredible RP staff!

Every part of our stay at RP was perfection. We spent two nights in the Whale's Tail Villa and four nights in the Tamandua Tree House. Both were a bit of a hike from the pool area, but the seclusion is part of what makes RP so special. There was one small hiccup with our room, but staff went above and beyond to take care of the issue quickly and checked in the next day to make sure all was well. I can't say enough about the staff- everyone was friendly, kind, and helpful. Vinnay made sure we had delicious drinks, Jason and Andres were wonderful at every meal and we looked forward to seeing them at dinner each night. Speaking of dinner... every meal was outstanding. When we had early excursions, they took breakfast orders the night before and made sure we had what we needed for the day. If we were returning late for lunch, they communicated with our drivers to take our lunch orders so we would have food ready upon our return. Henry and Adrian were incredibly helpful with arranging our excursions and daily transportation for the beach and anywhere else we needed to go. They checked in with us each day to ensure where had everything we needed and always had a ride waiting for us. Next time, we will skip the drive to/from SJO and take the local flight option to save time, but Bernie was great and we felt safe with every driver/ride we had. With so many places to explore in this world, we rarely stay at the same place twice, but RP is a special gem and we will surely be back. Thank you to all the RP staff for making our stay so beautiful. Pura Vida!

This place is amazing. The rooms are perfect and for us, a couple, the seclusion yet closeness was perfect. The spa is great. The food is great. The staff are outstanding. I highly recommend this place if you want a perfect slice of the Pura Vida.

There is only one thing that could possibly be considered a slight challenge about this place and that is that it truly does take a 4x4 to access it. :)

Absolutely amazing experience. The staff was super accommodating and friendly. My wife and I feel like the package we went with was well worth it and everything included was awesome. The food and drinks are all fresh ingredients and taste great.

From the moment we arrived, our time at RP was absolutely five star. The food was outstanding (favorites were hummus toast and avocado toast for breakfast, tuna ceviche and Casado for lunch). The staff paid attention to each and every detail. Our stay at the secluded Treehouse Tamandua was exactly what we needed. If you want total privacy, I can’t recommend this option enough.

We booked waterfall rapelling and zip lining through RP and both companies were wonderful.

If you opt to drive, you will definitely want to rent a 4x4, as recommended by RP. The roads are steep and slippery when it rains.

I truly hope to visit again.

Absolute amazing week at Rancho Pacifico. Treehouses have stunning views and so comfortable for relaxing. Extremely clean and housekeeping at least 2 times daily.
The food is to die for and the service is over the top. Wake up to the Howler monkeys and the Toucans squealing. Incredible experience. Many excursions to choose from.

Rancho Pacifico is by far one of the most incredible resorts we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. From the pre-check-in experience to every detail during your stay, the staff at RP has you covered. We felt as though we had the entire place to ourselves most days. The food, it was amazing. I am missing the daily fresh juice and coffee. Our time spent there will be a memory we never forget, I was already trying to figure out when we can return.
