Pipal Tree Hotel

We stayed here and also had the meeting rooms booked for two days for an office seminar. The facilities along with the foods are awesome (Esp. at the price they offer). I certainly wou;ld offer people to consider this place. The people are awesome. Avishek, is best and does things out of the skin to mke you comfortable! Awesome. My gratitude to the entire Pipal Tree team!

Fantastic hotel...very good service...have traveled to Kolkata many times for work ..but stayed here for the first time ...and I totally enjoyed the experience...Mr Judhajit Banerjee was in touch before I arrived to Kolkata ,sharing the directions,he ensured a smooth check in as well as a welcome gesture...the room was spacious and the breakfast spread was good with staff who served with a smile...the decor at the breakfast place (tamara) was beautiful ..for dinner at the same restaurant the vibe is wonderful with candle lights and unusual creative kind of glassware and cutlery...the food was delicious...all in all totally recommended

I am writing to share my recent experience at the Pipal Tree Hotel during the first week of February 2024, which unfortunately was quite distressing.

Despite my office making reservations two months in advance and paying the full amount, I was unexpectedly asked to check out a day after my arrival. The reason provided by the Front Office Manager, Mr. Avishek Das, was urgent maintenance work necessitating the relocation of all guests to nearby hotels.

However, as the evening progressed, it became apparent that the hotel had overbooked and was prioritizing a large group attending an alumni meet over individual female guests like myself. When confronted, Mr. Das admitted to deceiving me and revealed the true reason behind the request to vacate my room.

I was deeply troubled by Mr. Das's rude and threatening demeanour, and his phone calls forcing me to vacate my room. It was only with the assistance of friends in the city that I was able to resolve the situation. Nevertheless, this experience was unprecedented and unsettling, particularly as a solo female traveller.

I feel compelled to caution others against staying at Pipal Tree Hotel and urge you to share this information within your network to prevent others from encountering similar issues.

I am a lady and was on a solo stay at this hotel . I was visiting Kolkata on a work trip from the US . My booking was done many months advance and a money receipt for my stay was issued to me as well.
In the middle of my conference I get calls from the hotel asking me to take my stuff and move out since they had overbooked their capacity. They kept harassing me all day over the phone and text messages to move out in the middle of my stay.
The staff was extremely rude, unethical and insensitive . This is not what one expects when they plan an international trip and pay full price for their stay at a hotel well in advance.
Very unprofessional behaviour ! Harassing a lady travelling solo is unacceptable .
In addition the cleanliness and hygiene of the rooms is substandard. Used sheets, dirty washrooms and rooms far from being well maintained.
I regret having to pay this much and getting such bad service in return.

I would advise you to refrain from staying at this hotel if you can !

Very beautiful property. Nice location. Very cooperative team.. Avirup and suddha helped me out of their domain and enhance our expectation of customer services.. have multiple restaurants which offers multicuisine delights. Luchchi aaloo dum offers authentic bengali taste. Keep it up Novotel kolkata😊

A good stay at here. Rooms are properly cleaned and amenities are sufficient for one person. it was a business travel. As a single lady traveler this hotel is very much secure. Reception lady was polite and professional. Foods are quite good but price a bit high. Near shopping mall and other area is also nearby. Car available for airport pick up and drop on chargeable basis. although it was a good stay. recommended to all.

It was only for the night.. the check-in was smooth, rooms are cleaned. food is good here. property , ambience, décor nicely done.. reception person were very professional and helpful. a good view room provided as I have requested. Food was good.

The worst Reception people non cooperative, lazy ,and takes minimum 40 minutes to complete check in formalities for a guest as if great favors done ! House keeping comes at 12noon to make room . In room dining food is over priced ..Breakfast good

The hotel is at a good location in New Town, we stayed overnight and found the hotel good for a short stay. Did not have a good experience at the check-in desk, and had to wait a couple of hours for the room to be available, they surely need to work on their check-in process. After check-in experience has been good, the rooms were clean, and of decent size with good interiors, staff was courteous and helpful. Overall it was a good stay.

I was solo travelling in Kolkata and stayed there for five nights. Not my best experience.

Pros: Near the airport and the rooms are big. The employees are very friendly too.

Cons: There was dust on some of the surfaces. The staff is not well organised or does not communicate clearly(I was informed that I need to prepay my room for the first two nights and after that, I will pay for everything at the end. On the second day, I was asked to prepay for all nights or prepay every day on the second day. That wasn't very pleasant because it was not what was agreed upon. In general, I felt uncomfortable with how they were acting about the payments, but that is just my feeling). The last two nights, there was noise on my floor. One of the nights, the couple next door started fighting at 4 am (which is annoying but happens) but after they were done started playing loud music. I complained to reception. I was informed that they would send security, but the music stopped at 7 am. The second night, around midnight, two drunk people started singing and making noise in the corridor. Again not the hotel's fault, but the problem was how they dealt with the situation. I needed to complain twice, and it took them 50 minutes to make the guest go to their room.

For 68 AUD, the hotel is not worth it, so I would not stay there for a second time.

I stayed here for two nights while passing through Kolkata. I chose it because I wanted to be relatively close to the airport and I thought I'd splurge on a "four-star" property.

This is a typical chain hotel the likes of which can be found the world over. There is really nothing wrong with the building or facilities. However, in typical Asian style, the rooms have received no maintenance and the wear and tear are quite obvious. Particularly in the bathroom which really should have a complete remodel.

Although the room was clean enough, the hot water, air-conditioning, and internet were just so-so. In fact, the internet system, with a one Gb. limit per log-in was a pain.

At $48.50 USD per night (through Agoda), I thought the hotel was pretty average.

However, I found the staff very friendly and helpful and that's the only reason I gave this property four out of five dots.

Proper amenities needs to be given and room cleaning needs improvement. Location wise it is good. Food is good but negative is the Housekeeping. The security helped us during our check in with our luggage.

It was my first visit at this property, well maintained and cozy property. Staff from lower to high level all are very good and well trained. Rooms are well decorated and clean. Food is very good. I have not stopped at the reception though I have come before standard arrival time of the property. They attended me well and given the room on my immediate arrival. I recommended to all visit here, best hotel near the airport. Though you will find good brand nearby, but here the service is extraordinary.

It was our second conference in the banquet hall and the arrangement was fantastic. Service provided was excellent. Food was awesome. Overall it was a pleasant visit and I highly recommend it for others to visit.

I booked the banquet for a party. Location and decor were the only thing that made me give 1 star. Food was pathetic, there was a hell and heaven difference between the food trial and actual food served.
I went there for the reputation and past experience, however, this time I was extremely disappointed with the service. The food was not even half the worth of the price per plate.

Avoid , Wifi is a JOKE, food is OK if you stay with menu, moment you try a-la-carte they rip you with prices. It almost seems they are are on lookout how to make money not so much SERVICE. The taxi-cabs that the front-desk manages also is racket

It was my first visit at this property. Got the warm welcome from the reception person. Well trained and they had positive vibes. I was in hurry and reached before the check-in time .. the reception person manage the room very smoothly and given the room. Maintaining safety and hygienic from the entry point of the hotel till room.
Room was with good amenities and clean. food is also very testy.. recommended strongly...

It was my over the expectations... After I stepped into the hotel, got a very warm welcome from the reception... I was in a hurry the reception person given the room before arrival time and as per my requirement.. The room was nice and with good amenities... Maintaining safety and hygienic from entering the hotel till the room.. The reception person was very helpful with the local area knowledge..food is also very testy...overall my experience was above my expectation... Thank you team pipal tree... Recommended strongly...

Room is up-to my expectations, clean, hygienic and most importantly safe with hotel situated near to Airport, staff well behaved and the food was also awesome which was amazing. Feel at home.The hotel is nearby city center 2 mall which make it convenient for shopping.
