Hood accessible room and excellent staff.
I have rarely stayed anywhere with such friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. All staff were cheerful and positive. What a great asset they are to the Hotel Indigo York.
The room was comfortable, clean and had all we needed.
A couple of tiny things which are not worth mentioning especially compared to the positives.
Great breakfast! Hotel with lots of character. Staff courteous and professional.

设施一般,比较旧了,淋浴区堵塞,找了前台疏通。
We have just returned from a four night stay at the Indigo to celebrate my birthday. Lovely clean and comfortable room. Lots of restaurants and bars just up the street and within easy walking to all York's attractions. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Sammi does a fantastic job. Breakfast staff were amazing. Kerry and the gentleman who had worked at Rosyth many years ago who's name I didn't get were fantastic. I am missing my very tasty cheese and ham omelette in the morning. A special mention for the brilliant and unexpected rendition of Mamma Mia from the girl at the reception 😂
Clean, good location
Wasn’t too impressed with breakfast, didn’t stay hot was cold before you finished.
Noisy outside our ground floor room with laundry trolley and bins.
Booked a room with a view but given ground floor.
We experienced abysmal customer service and would give zero stars if possible. Based on many positive experiences at IHG properties, including 16 nights at the Indigo in Boston and Even Hotel in NYC last year, we had reserved 4 nights at the Hotel Indigo in York, UK. Both on the reservation form and in an e-mail we requested a quiet room. When we arrived to check in at 3:00 pm, first we were told that we had reserved a floating room and therefore had been given a ground floor room near the university students’ quarters; both of these are obviously not quiet. We went to the room and saw a road directly outside and heard vehicles zoom past, so we phoned the manager, Charlie, to request a change. He was clearly irritated, then claimed that we had asked for a ground floor room, which certainly is not true. He said he wasn’t able to find another room, which we suspected was a lie because we had seen at reception how much friendlier and warmer he was with people who look more like him than we do. There was no expression of regret about the supposed “unavailability” of another room, just a recommendation to contact IHG customer service. We had a lengthy text correspondence with IHG representative Ford, who initially told us to take it up with the property manager and then claimed repeatedly she/he had phoned Charlie and that Charlie was going to contact us. So we sat in the noisy ground floor room and did not touch anything so that we could move to a better room if one was found. We spent several hours there getting increasingly hungry (we had not had lunch) and needing to use the toilet but refraining from doing so, then called reception again and was told Charlie had already gone home! The following morning, after sleeping poorly due to road noise, we spoke to Charlie in person; he claimed that he had never been called by customer service. We don’t know who lied – Charlie or Ford – but based on Charlie’s unapologetic manner and stone face, we strongly suspect it was Charlie who deliberately deceived us. Ford ignored our repeated requests to speak to/ text with a supervisor, and then finally wrote that someone would contact us, but of course that never happened. We ended up staying one night and cancelled the rest of the stay. The IHG (umbrella company which includes Hotel Indigo) chat does not allow interaction with a human and sends automatic responses, so we have given up on trying to resolve this directly with them.
