It was fine, nothing special, the breakfast staff were all very pleasant and welcoming - thank you

Hotel was looking a little tired in places and attention to detail lacking e.g. normally there are coloured cushions on the beds, there were none, the edges on the throw across the bed were fraying, towels refreshed around 3pm in the afternoon etc.

Pros:

Lovely, quiet hotel ideally situated for a short walk into York centre but also on a road with several cafes and restaurants. Parking available only a few minutes walk from the hotel. The room was warm, clean and equipped with everything we needed for a short stay. The style was quirky and quite different from a typical hotel room. The bed was comfy though the pillows could have been better but I have a bad neck so maybe I am being picky!! All the staff were so friendly and welcoming and were an asset to the IHG brand. We ate one night in the hotel restaurant and enjoyed a lovely meal and nice to just walk back to our room after rather than face the rain outside!
