Birdwing Sigiriya felt like a home away from home, thanks to Sajee’s infectious warmth and attention to detail 🏡. From the moment we arrived, she treated us like family—whether it was sharing stories over tea or surprising us with a stroll to discover the magical "Birdwing Stone," a tucked-away spot only locals know. Her genuine care (10/10 host vibes!) turned a simple stay into an adventure.

The only tiny note? A mini fridge would’ve been handy for midnight snacks after those long days exploring Sigiriya’s ancient wonders. But honestly, Sajee’s hospitality outshone any small inconvenience. If you’re craving a mix of cozy comfort and local secrets, this spot’s a gem 💎.

This is a perfect retreat of place. Kind of place I’ve never stayed in but loving every moment. We came with day plan & now staying 3 days.

Very attentive staff. Lovely setting. Six elephants came to the lake at night. Road to get there was not great.

Only bad thing: food/drinks are overpriced (1700/dinner) and prices are not even given on the Menu. You better have dinner in the village for half the price!

Friendly staff and a nice pool but a bit far out from town unless you really want to get away from it all. The rooms were ok with a basic concrete finish. For the price it would have been nice to have a tiled bathroom and shower screen fitted.

Location is a little unusual and bit out of it but the peace and views are amazing. Hosts were very caring and attentive. Room was very clean as were all other areas of the hotel. Food was also very tasty.

This hotel is in an out of the way location. It is very calm and peaceful and we enjoyed our food. I like to birwatch while on holiday and the birds on the lake were fabulous.
Staff was helpful and it was one of the best value stays in Sri Lanka.

Nous avons réservé à cette hôtel afin de nous reposer suite à un séjour éprouvant dans la ville de Colombo. Après une longue recherche du tuk-tuk, nous sommes arrivés dans un petit coin de paradis. Absolument tout était parfait! Le gérant nous a acceuilli avec des serviettes aromatisées pour le visage et des jus de papaye fraîchement pressés. Puis il nous a amené à notre chambre dans l'un des six bungalows....encore une fois parfait! Le lavabo était orné de fleurs fraiches, il y avait l'air climatisé, une salle de bain digne d'un cinq étoiles, un lit extrêmement confortable et même un grand balcon où nous avons aperçu plusieurs paons le lendemain matin.

Lors de la journée nous avons profité de la piscine infinie dans un décor à couper le souffle. Le gérant (toujours aux petits soins)nous a préparé un club sandwich (excellent), puis il nous a amené à un point de vue où nous avons observé le lion rock.

Pour le souper, les employés ont déplacé les tables autour de la piscine pour y faire des soupers aux chandelles... magnifique!!!

Un séjour plus que mémorable!

Personnel : gentil, courtois et aux petits soins!
Nourriture : d'une qualité exceptionnelle!
Emplacement : un peu loins du centre, mais ça en vaut la peine!!!

N'hésitez surtout pas à le réserver!

Nous y avons passé 3 nuits et c’etait parfait.
Un magnifique petit dejeuner, un diner toujours excellent, le personnel tres accueillant, que dire de plus? Tres bon hotel avec vue sur le rocher de sigiriya et en pleine nature!

El hotel en si esta nuy bien. En medio de la nada y en el lago. Las vistas son preciosas. Si quierrs relajarte es una opcion muy buena. Lo unico esta muy apartado y es dificil de encontrarlo x un camino nada bueno.
Recomendable si quedas con los del hotel para que te vayan a buscar y te llevan ellos.
En la habitacion no habia wifi, solo el comedor.
Habitaciones limpias y con terraza con vistas preciosas al lago.

This is Not a typical hotel. This is a safari type cottage. They have only 4 rooms, nicely built, nice interior but poorly maintained. If you Need any help or need to contact the reception need to walkout, no phone facility.
The most terrible thing is the drive. It is about 3-4 KM away from the road.. The road is narrow, muddy and bumpy. Hardly a car can be driven safely. I doubt if it rain a car can be driven that road.
I do not recommend for a family stay.

It was Nice to stay her. Was not loudy. An you could relax. It is worth for your money.

google maps gave the wrong directions (not the hotels fault, but you will want to ring them for directions)
and the road in is a bit rough my car driver was not happy.

A little slice of paradise, a very peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle. The owner arranged the most spectacular safari and everyone took excellent care of us. The food was delicious and the tuk tuk driver was such a nice guy. He took us climbing up a mountain and held out a hand to us to help us climb. He went above and beyond. All in all a lovely place to stay.

The scenary is stunning but it is very hard to find with the difficult access dirt road. The host had to send a tutu to pick us up half way through as our car is hard to pass.
The room has excellent lake view, big size room and bathroom and comfortable king bed but the extra roller bed we requested had some stains on the sheets and the hot water ran out very quickly only enough for a quick shower.
