You can't help being impressed by the effort put in by the hosts to make this hotel work. It isn't perfect but thoroughly enjoyable and the location makes this a winner.

Perfect stay
Pros:

Excellent stay, we were made to feel very welcome. The owners went above and beyond to make sure the place was spotless. The food was fresh from local suppliers and was perfect, my scallops were caught fresh that morning. There is a lovely garden which we sat and had some drinks in. Couldn't fault one thing, our favourite stay from our trip round the north coast of Scotland.

Good location on the NC500 route
Pros:

Over priced hotel. Room was very small (room 4). Tiny bathroom, close to breakfast room. Strange sort of porch area with a door direct to the car park, though this was handy for unpacking. Nice towels. Carex was the provided soap in the en suite, bit downmarket, as was no orange juice at breakfast. Burgers were excellent bot when asked for mayonnaise the waitress literally plonked a squeeze bottle of Hellmann on the table.
Good real ales. Staff pleasant enough. Breakfast ok.

Pros:

Great place and fabulous hosts. They went out of their way to accommodate us and friends for a wonderful dinner. This was a shared bathroom, which is not my preference, but it was spotless and we had no problems. I would definitely recommend this hotel, but book early!

Pros:

The room was cold and the bathroom smelt damp and the shower was very small. The food was very small portions for the price. Had to have crisps and biscuits when went back to the room.

Relaxing village hotel with a few caveats.
Pros:

We had been up hill walking in the Munros around Torridon and booked the hotel as a place to have a nice meal and bed for the night.

On arriving it was a cosy and welcoming place with a comfortable seating area by the entrance. The room was nice enough although it didn’t have a TV which was a little missed. We had booked a shared bathroom room which seemed a little archaic of us at first but their was no issue and a big clean bath helped ease our tired muscles.

We had dinner in the bar and although the menu looked good, when our food arrived the chips were oven cooked. I never thought it would have bothered me but if I go to a hotel I expect proper chips. Another thing was that being a hotel in the highlands, after a big day on the hill, not having a fire on in the bar was a bit of a downer.

After a good nights sleep we had a hearty cooked breakfast and headed off. Overall a good experience but with a few things that could be done better.
