I booked this for my parents and they did not like that you couldn't make a cup of tea in their room or had a fridge to keep their wine. Had to go down to the common area for this.
They opted not to have their room serviced in return for a food and drink voucher which was not honoured. They were told at the Lobby Bar, they could not buy a packet of chips with their voucher because it was a "snack and not food". Total scam!
Staff were generally unfriendly bordering on hostile.

I opted not to have my room not serviced for 2 days in return for vouchers which were not honoured - total scam.
At checkout, I was not informed of these extra charges made to my card and was not offered a receipt.
Have been trying to follow up - they do not answer their phone and do not respond to website enquiries.

I finally got through to staff through messages on booking.com and I asked them to send me a copy of the voucher that supposedly detailed their terms. What they sent me - wasn't it - it was just something printed on a piece of paper - not the grey glossy cardboard I received. They also refer to the "Lobby restaurant" - no such thing. All they serve is an overpriced and very limited continental breakfast for $30!
The room had a balcony which was lovely to oversee the city. Rooms are neat and tidy and the location is perfect.

The location being close to the train station was perfect for me, an easy 10 minute walk, Plenty of options for dinner were around and despite being in a busier area, the room was really quiet.
The shared kitchen space and mezzanine level is such a great idea, especially being able to go in and maker your own tea or coffee, and having space in a fridge to put things in. I didn't have the breakfast in the morning, but next time I would consider it!
There is a bit of hallway noise, but that's more on the people walking down it early in the morning than anything that the hotel can change!!
cool, contemporary decor and overall ambience; central location, friendly staff, good shower and large bed; balcony, the reception bar and and roof top space, breakfast, good quality riding bikes, the (lolly!) snakes at reception!
the relentless LOUD live music blaring from the Universal bar across the road until 2am on ALL 3 nights we were there (ear plugs in the room were the giveaway but not enough!)...so ask for a room as high up and faraway as possible from the William street aspect
just 2 hooks to hang clothes from (why not a proper clothes rack?)
