Great

It's a lovely boutique hotel right in the centre of Richmond. It's warm, cosy and very friendly. There are very comfortable seating areas inside and in the garden. Breakfast is delicious, with handmade bread. Just lovely.

Everything was perfect. The location was beautiful, as was the room.
The staff were friendly and efficient.
It would be difficult to improve on

The hotel was lovely, the rooms beautiful and the staff extremely friendly and helpful (especially Melissa). Breakfast choices and quality fabulous. We will definitely be revisiting.

Lovely boutiquey hotel in excellent location for all of Richmond. Calm environment with beautiful furniture and lounges plus garden area. Helpful owners. Great breakfast included prunes roasted in Earl Grey!

I stayed at the The Frenchgate Restaurant & Hotel for four night’s the staff were very helpful and friendly the room was very comfortable and clean and the breakfast was great!

Fabulous weekend, the host David was such a lovely guy and went above and beyond the 3 days & 2 nights we were at the French gate. Room 2 was beautiful and the building is absolutely stunning. So much choice at breakfast and all cooked to perfection but the highlight of the weekend was the chips. One of the best stays we’ve had for a long time and hopefully we’ll be back soon, David & all the team, can’t thank you enough.

David and team were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfasts were delicious. Would recommend and would certainly stay again.

Nice friendly staff, good breakfast. We paid for the superior room but it didn’t seem particularly superior as it was pretty small, but all facilities were good. I’d just expect a bit more for the price of £198 per night.

Comfortable, well-appointed room; good bed; decent bathroom. Pleasant breakfast with variety of cooked options. Efficient check-in and check-out. Convenient on-street parking. Ticked all our boxes for an overnight stay in Richmond.
