The location, setting and views were excellent. Staff were ever so friendly and attentive.
The continental breakfast could be improved
Great breakfast
Great food evening meal
Bed was so uncomfortable plus pillows. Very disappointing
Great setting. Quirky accommodation and relaxed atmosphere
Bathroom needs a bit of tlc
The character of it , the location, the staff were wonderful , my daughter stayed also with her friends the night before her wedding and it was perfect ,
Nothing to dislike !
It’s location was stunning overlooking the battlefield great outside dining superb Sunday lunch our room had everything we needed the bed was comfortable.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful nothing seemed to much bother and the local beer was awesome
There wasn’t anything to dislike
Exceptional breakfast, superb staff
Bed a bit worn
Lovely, cosy character room in the turret of the castle. Great facilities and the comfiest bed. The pub has a great menu, food was amazing
Fabulous stay. Wonderful place, excellent food, lovely staff
Nothing at all
Lovely place to stay with wonderful views if u stay in the castle tower…bed was comfortable but too drunk to perform on the missis 😜
Breakfast was a let down, if you want cooked food that’s after 10 am .. so we had to put bread in the toaster.. and selections of bit of cheese and ham.. an some ham .. no marmite.. no staff around.. found him in the bar , I think they could excel this into a top draw venue.
Beautiful castle in lovely surroundings, comfortable and clean room, staff very nice.
Having stayed in lots of castles over the years, I felt that whilst the rooms were reasonably priced, the food and drink was quite expensive.
Nice views. Continental brekky was nice.
Bathroom needed a little decorative tidy up
We had a great stay at the Castle for a local wedding. Having contacted them beforehand we were able to check in early and get access to one of the rooms to get ready.
Lovely location, view and beer garden - we wish we had stayed longer to enjoy it all.
The free continental breakfast was also appreciated!
Location was nice with good views
Having to ask for bedding for a sofa bed at 10pm. None was left (having booked a room with 2 beds I would expect linen for both) apparently I should have made it clear I wanted sheets beforehand ??
No staff on site and no one answering calls on the emergency contact line or responding to texts, 24 hours later and they still haven’t called me back / acknowledged a missed call / text.
Abruptly told they were closed when we arrived at 6.30pm
We needed to check in. They did check us in but wasn’t the warmest of greetings after a long drive.
1 fan for a suite on the hottest night of the year. Only 3 windows out of 7 opened
Pillowcase had make up on.
WiFi wasn’t available. Since there is also no reception, if good WiFi can be made available
Pub with rooms in a characterful 18th century mock castle. Fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. Bar with good food and beer; restaurant with an unexpectedly imaginative menu. And a lovely outdoor area for good weather.
Lovely stay, amazing view from our bedroom & delicious breakfast (again with an amazing view). Stayed for a nearby wedding and it worked out well.
Unusual to sleep in a castle ( even if it is a folly). Stunning views and really good food. Exceeded our expectations.
