Poor experience
Pros:

The toliet in my room continued to run and flush on its own throughout the night. The alarm clock was not functioning. Staff offered to compensation or discount. Had to move rooms 2nd night late at night inconvenient. Would like a discount on what I paid. Was told to contact booking.com vs them

A Let-Down

Bed was very comfy, the cleaning staff was wonderful, room was quiet and clean

Cons:

The pools, both inside and outside, were photographed so well in the hotel's photos that they really let us down in person. They were very small, and you have to walk across the concrete parking lot in order to approach the outside one. Plus, the outside pool was right next to the road.

In addition, any time I spoke with reception about a problem with our reservations, I got lukewarm responses and no help. They said I needed to talk to booking.com, where I originally got the reservations. I called booking.com and booking said they would call the hotel headquarters to see if they approved any change. I soon got an email basically saying Wingate never responded, so I need to talk to them myself. However, I had already talked to them at reception. It was a headache.

Finally, the breakfast was uninspired. I have no idea how it was voted "best in the Dells." The same breakfast spread is offered at any other mid-range hotel we've patronized.

Would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Pros:

The hotel and the amenities were all that we hoped for. Very clean, and friendly staff is a big plus! Spacious rooms with a nice layout.

Cons:

We were a bit disappointed with the breakfast. It would have been better with a few more options. Some biscuits and gravy, bacon, and yogurt would have been great options!

Beautiful hotel
Pros:

My 8 and 10 year old granddaughters loved the outdoor waterslides and pool as did the adults! People should be aware that the indoor water slides are really for very little kids like toddlers and probably isn't fun for kids over 5 years old.
This hotel was VERY clean -from the lobby to the rooms to the pools. Breakfast was very good and was a really beautiful space,
Staff was very friendly.

Cons:

Breakfast ends at 9 am... Too early when checkout is 11.

There is hardly anywhere to hang towels and swim suits in the rooms.
