Please note that The Barnstaple Hotel is a busy function hotel and at times has music playing until 01:00 in the function suite. There are times when this can be heard in some garden court and pool view rooms.

Convenient location to town if you needed to walk.
No lift and the stairs are not the easiest to navigate when your partner has mobility issues with his legs.
Bright, clean and central location with good facilities. Friendly and efficient staff. Beautiful room with a large comfortable bed. Good breakfast.
Both openable windows didn't shut, properly so I was affected by noise as my room was above a loading bay where good s were constantly wheeled in and out, as well as opposite an external company's goods yard, where lorries and forklifts were active after midnight. Also, the radiator (which appeared to be from the 1980s) was very noisy as soon as it was turned on.

My wife and I visited the hotel for her birthday this weekend. We were met by pleasant staff on reception and given a lovely room. Very clean, great breakfast and waitress service.

The swimming pool. Breakfast choice good I liked the Haddock and poached eggs.
Nothing it was good. Shame there is no lift .
Great leisure facilities, and excellent for the money
Not a lot, you have to compare what you get for what you pay. I got a LOT of value for my money. I have stayed in better hotels, but NOT for what i paid.
Pool area, although cosy it was very inviting and comfy. I'm sure in the summer that the outdoor area is even better with that sun trap. Staff were great. Bed was gd and the room was a comfortable to generous size.
Location looking out across to the kids play and bowls area, quite noisy going late into the evening/midnight, plus its unsightly. The air con set up in the room with piping going to the wall, partially blocking the bathroom door, looks like a quick fix thats permanent,
I loved the hotel i wished i had enough time to use the pool the staff was lovely and very helpful food and drinks were great
