Good selection for breakfast. Room was comfortable and quiet.
We booked a table for dinner, but when we arrived we were not expected. The menu was rather restricted especially for someone on a gluten free diet. At breakfast there was no indication that anything other than fried eggs were available. We expected to be served with tea and coffee if nothing else.
The hotel itself is modern and well kept
On arrival, no welcome to the Woodland but just asked for the name. I was given the key card and no explanation as to where the room was. Then had to ask for breakfast times. After asking about an evening meal, I was told ‘it’s A La Carte’ - we looked at the menu and went to a local pub instead which was a fabulous decision. The welcome is atrocious.
Required a late checkout so asked about that - was quoted £20 per hour when I knew it was £10 per hour so challenged. The receptionist was all over the place and backtracked but would have charged £40 given the chance. Told her I would check and pay in the morning.
Room was okay but at about 1am woke up feeling cold - the heating didn’t come back on again so not the best night sleep and certainly not the best morning getting dressed. Good job the towel rail worked!
Everything was amazing, location, room, staff at reception were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
The only thing i would say could of been better i attended breakfast at 8.35am and the food was cold but still delicious would of just liked it hot.
Clean and good location
Na
It was spacious
The rooms are not sound proof some people across our room keeps banging their door in the middle of the night. And as it was so hot in our room we have to keep the window open and some guest was using the open patio setting area inside the hotel by the bar and as it happens our room was just above it - some guest were talking loudly up until late at night so its like a night from hell.
Excellent choice .
Nothing to complain about. Will book again.
Quiet room plenty of parking
Room needed some TLC, window wouldn't close properly, toilet bottom cracked, no air con
Nothing
It was unclean, some staff were rude and not bothered. I was moved into 3 different rooms and all were unclean. One of the rooms had a door hanging off! 1st room had door hanging off with the potential to block a fire exit, lipstick stains on the window sill and thick dust at the top of the curtains. They said my next room had been checked and was fine. It wasn't. Brown stains on the bed sheets, pubic hair in the bath and brown stains on the carpet. Moved to room 3 two and a half hours after I arrived and although bedsheets were now clean, there were dirt marks on the walls, dust everywhere, crusty cream marks on the curtains and spilled coffee marks that were not cleaned up. It was a hot day and the window didn't stay open as it would shut itself. All I was offered was a drink at the bar and a free dinner. Not even a partial refund. They charged me £117 for one night in this dirty place. Avoid.
Room was clean and well appointed
Bar and Restaurant were ok. Breakfast was good 1 morning, and poor the other morning with very little hot food available, and long wait times for the chefs to replenish any hot options, well over 20 minutes sitting around waiting for eggs to come out, then by the time that happened there was no sausages or bacon.
The parking was easy and wifi worked well
The dinner food was ok, we had curry the first night and both were really tasty. the second night we had pasta, which was the plainest thing I have ever tasted, was basically overcooked pasta with a tin of tomatoes over it and nothing else added, it was actually revolting, and the fish and chips were dripping in fryer oil The overall poor quality of food being offered by this hotel is the only thing letting the property down
The food was very good
Noisy heating
Great breakfast, professional and friendly staff, close to various attractions.
Ask for a room away from the road due to noise.
