Breakfast was very good
More seafood on the menu
Amazing stay, lovely area with lots to do. Really nice facilities including Pool and Sauna. Food here for breakfast and dinner was really good and staff were excellent at every point in our stay. Extra mention to James and Jessie who were amazing in making us feel welcome and great hospitality all round. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back.
We did the Eclipse experience at the Saunton Sands Hotel in Devon (another Hotel in the Brend group), and were very impressed, so when it was time for another break we thought we'd give the Royal Duchy in our favourite county a try. We were not disappointed. This is a very clean and well maintained hotel. Staff were genuinely friendly and eager to help. We were a last minute booking so didn't get the pick of the rooms (the best ones had all gone, which is a good sign) but what we had was excellent. Comfortable, quiet and the shower worked perfectly, which is my yardstick of a good hotel. We were blessed with good weather so drinks on the terrace overlooking the sea with views of Pendennis Castle (worth a visit) was the order of the day. A 10 minute walk into Falmouth, shopping, coffee and cake then back to the sun beds on the lawn to recover with a pint of Sharpes Off Shore.
It was a great experience and we cannot wait to get back next summer.
Right by the beach.
Room was very small and very stuffy.
Coffee at breakfast was awful. Staff didn’t really go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
I was staying as a solo traveller. The hotel has a lovely view from the lounge and dining room. The breakfast and dinner was excellent. The staff were very helpful. There is a swimming pool in the hotel and a beach 10 minutes walk away. The beach opposite the hotel is rocky and not easy to get in the sea. I had a very enjoyable few days and will visit again.
The hotel staff is very friendly. The hotel has a wonderful location at itself. But the rooms are overpriced if you get only a room on the backside. Which tends to happen to families.
Very good all round. Room was comfortable and clean. Had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent and breakfast was good too. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and of course the location is wonderful with lovely sea views.
This was my second time staying here and I would be more than happy to stay again!

We come to The Royal Duchy every year and always look forward to our stay. There is something lovely about its traditional, quintessentially English feel, which is part of what keeps bringing us back.
The staff are a real highlight. Many of them remember us from previous visits, which gives the hotel a lovely personal and welcoming atmosphere. It’s always nice to come back and see familiar faces.
The restaurant is also a big part of our enjoyment of staying here. The food is consistently very good and we always enjoy eating there.
As with anywhere, there are always little things that could be improved, and we have mentioned a few of these in our feedback. However, these certainly didn't detract from our stay. Overall, we had another very enjoyable visit and will, as always, hopefully, be back again next year!
Traumhafte Lage
Veraltetes Bad mit Badewanne
Stayed at this hotel on a late booking for three nights. The hotel has a number of positives, some pleasant decor etc. Arrived in the afternoon when it was really hot. No air-con, no fan switched on, no fridge. The window openings were too limited, so little fresh air. But worst of all was the room size. Passing off as a double what clearly is a single sized space at best with very little relaxation area or room to move, a tiny bathroom and small tv to match was a big disappointment. The view was immediately over a messy looking flat roof with a neck stretch to glimpse a small bit of the bay. The overall room experience was total claustrophobia. This room was for us far from value for money; won't be back.
Excellent staff, friendly & couldn’t do enough to ensure we were catered for - best hotel we’ve stayed in. Will return.
Room little small but super comfortable.
Very good . Nice
Maybe AC in bedroom
Royal Duchy Falmouth Beach House Self Catering Apartment.
We chose a week at this self-catering apartment as, with limited mobility, we would be spending time indoors and wanted a sea view to enjoy.
We wanted to have the windows open to hear the sea and enjoy a through flow of fresh sea air. It turns out the apartment is above the hotel terrace and the hubbub coming up from below meant we often had to close them to deflect the noise. It felt like we were staying in a pub. Sleep was poor in spite of the comfortable bed. A loud fan outside the bedroom was continuously cutting in and out all night which you just could not adjust to (made no difference if the windows were open or shut) . Then came the early morning clatter of the hotel services awakening. The smart TVs they said were available were not smart, they only had basic freeview. The hotel should have ensured they were working before arrival. They never got them fixed even though they had a week to do so and despite making several requests. This was a great disappointment as we expected smart to be available for the time we had to spend indoors. The apartment description stated 'Step out onto your own private outdoor area'. We envisaged perhaps a nice small seating area. No area existed. The apartment had good appointments. Nice polite staff. Response from the Royal Duchy was an apology, no ownership that things were not as they should have been.
Happy overall with service location and everything. Will definitely visit again and will recommend to friends and family!

This is a great hotel if you want great views of the sea. The hotel offers great free parking.
I would highly recommend this hotel if you are after a touch of luxury by the coast with lovely rooms. We had a great stay in August!
