Hôtel des Alpes

Super convenient small hotel (5 rooms/floor). Right by train station and short walk to downtown/old city. It’s a bit loud as it’s in the city, but with windows shut it was plenty quiet.

Staff super friendly and helpful. Nice buffet breakfast.

Will be my go-to hotel in Geneva.

This place was perfect. Perfectly located. Very quiet too. The desk attendants were supper friendly. Geneva is a very nice place to visit. We took day trips to chamonix and annecy. The bus station is about 2 blocks away. The train station is 2 blocks the other way.

Close to the train station. Basic rooms

We paid for a triple room with a rooftop terrace. We were told that room was being renovated so we got two adjoining rooms without terrace. The refrigerator in one of the rooms was hotter than the room. The gym was also unavailable due to renovations in progress. Do not stay here unless you know the renovation has been completed. We would not have stayed here if we had known half of the hotel was unavailable.

The location is very strategic but the hotel room needs to be renovated.

We booked this hotel as it was within walking distance from the train station. It is literally a 2 minute walk from the train station and easy to jump on buses and trams to local attractions.
The rooms in themselves are comfortable but dated. The blinds do block out the majority of the light but more could be done. The shower head was coming away from the wall.
The staff were really friendly and helpful with recommending places to go along with the free transport that Geneva offers.
Breakfast was basic but very nice and it was great to have a kettle and fridge in the room to keep drinks cold and make a cup of tea after a long day. This is not the case in all Swiss hotels on our travels so was very thankful for it.

The stay was quite nice. The only downside was the air conditioning was being serviced throughout our stay and during unseasonably hot weather, the room was uncomfortably hot at night.

Ok place in Geneva. Very loud ac unit in the room, we stayed in a triple room. It has very low ceilings but was ok. The breakfast is not great, but in my opinion that’s kind of usual in Europe. Geneva is very small so most places are close to the Center and train station. Staff was nice, the hotel is very close to the train station and dining so it’s really convenient. If I was going to come back to Geneva I would consider this hotel again, but not for more than a stay of a day or two at most.

The breakfast was originally included in the bookings I made. But at the property they said there is no breakfast included after we ate the breakfast, they were rude. When we checked in they said breakfast included for all 3 bookings

Overall disappointing hotel experience, when I arrived there was vomit and a foul smell on the stairs, the room was advertised as with AC but the AC did not function, I found hairs in the bathroom and an overall minimal amount of comfort in the room. Upon checkout a rude staff member insisted I had an unsettled breakfast charge despite me never setting foot in the breakfast room. He kept saying “I know you took breakfast” despite me trying to explain there must have been a mistake, and when he offered to review the security footage which I gladly accepted he then backtracked stating “ok I will waive the charge but I know you had breakfast.” All of this over a 15 Swiss franc fee seemed rude and uncalled for - he then went and got the staff working breakfast at the time who confirmed it was not me and had a different age and appearance, and instead of apologizing he said “so this must have been the person you were staying with” despite my other guest in the room looking nothing like this description and getting breakfast with me outside the hotel. The location is great, but for the price I paid and the state of the accommodations I left with a bad taste in my mouth unfortunately.

Only stated briefly for stopover . Fridge and reading light by bed didn’t work. Air conditioning was good and bed was comfortable

Hotel was close to main train station, good location. It was really hot weather when we went so having AC in the room was very good. We noticed AC is hard to come by in the city in general for some reason. Room was very basic but got the job done. Room was clean.
