Close to where we were going
Not having breakfast
Everything, especially the history and the personable and knowledgeable staff. The rooms were very comfortable and the price was excellent.
Nothing.
The location was unique and very quiet.
Not a cookie cutter hotel. Liked the historic house.
A very nice alternative to a chain hotel. The beds were great. It was a beautiful house with authentic furnishings. James was pleasant and had good restaurant recommendations.
Great water pressure in showers and loved the jacuzzi tub
I loved the idea of staying here. However, all of the photos show a beautiful Victorian home. What they don’t show you, is the carriage house, which felt unsafe, lacking cleanliness, and overall dingy.
The fact that we had to stay in a house next door to the property. It felt so odd. The room felt unsafe. Their was a half a roll of toilet paper, towels that had been used for well over 20 years, a comforter that was not clean, mismatched furniture that was not original or Victorian, and no ventilation or the ability to open windows. We felt scammed. This was not the rooms shown on the photos. We left after 30 minutes and found a nicer, safer, and more appropriate accommodation. The owner approached us and we told him we were leaving. His response wasn’t to refund us, help us, or explain to us why we were in that treacherous room, but instead told us to go stay at the Holiday Inn up the road. He got $100 and we got a slap in the face as customers.
This is a wonderful B & B. I didn’t purchase the breakfast, but there is a second small kitchen with freezer and refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, china dishes, etc. and we were invited to help ourselves to it. My 2 favorite features were the front porch with rocking chairs and the jetted tub in my own bathroom, both were much appreciated after a full day of driving. There’s off-street parking across the street, there’s little traffic, the neighborhood was quiet, and this place is 2 doors down from the police station.
Great location for off hwy yet close to downtown. Quiet. Comfy beds, lovely deck. Access to kitchen. Easy parking. The host, James was very helpful. Liked that we could make our own coffee.
Falls short. Linens need updating. Landscaping needs care. Kitchen needs cleaning and towels, napkins provided. Microwave didn't work, ... easy things to fix. The host could use some help.
Very clean. Quiet.
The only thing was the box spring on the bed. It creaked every time I moved
Close to downtown. Historically themed. Front sitting porch. Not a cookie cutter hotel; more geared to B&B stay.
A little bit rusty around the edges but also charming.
Lots of charm.
Parking
Location was very close to the activities in the downtown area...the Carson Center, Farmer's Market, antique stores, etc.
The property wasn't quite as nice as the pictures illustrated. The jet spa tub spit out quite a bit of black gunk when my wife turned it on for the first time. I assume it doesn't get flushed out regularly.
Our room wasn't in the house that is pictured in the photos. We were placed in the house next door.
Anytime we returned to the property in the evening, we were greeted by a cloud of marijuana from a guy on the front porch. Nothing against him or his habits. We just didn't care for the overwhelming smell.
