Drive beyond Crystal City

No one was in the office when we arrived. It was 100 degrees and we had to wait outside. This property is well past its prime. Overall shabby. Swimming pool was filled with dirt and slanted with grass which had little chance of survival in the heat. Once inside the room it was OK. Clean and the bed is comfy but it is a large room with room for a table for dining or games and there was just one chair at a desk sized table. Room to play games would've been nice because there is nothing to do in Crystal City. The only restaurants open were for fast food - which we ate in bed.

Pros:

At 4:30 am the smoke detector began chirping every 20 seconds for a couple of hours. We could not sleep because of this. I know it happens, but when you are exhausted and not getting the rest you need, it’s difficult!
