Hotel Winneshiek

Great accommodations given the large group of quilters, their equipment, room temperature and check in process! Hot showers, great water pressure and rooms were updated since a year ago.

Hotel Winneshiek is a beautiful hotel with awesome service. This was my second stay there and I've already booked my next visit. The mattress was the only negative as it was too soft.

handy for quilting but one night went to room early and tv didn't work. Called desk no answer, so went down. Could not find anyone.

Great historic hotel in Downtown Decorah, Iowa. Great area to walk with many restaurants and shops steps away.

Grand old hotel brought back to it's original beauty. We enjoyed the bar and wonderful restaurant only a block away!

Hotel room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Enjoyed the in room whirlpool and breakfast in the morning.

The Winneshiek provides a fantastic stay: an extremely courteous, friendly, and highly-attentive staff; cozy, comfortable rooms in a gorgeous, historic building; location, location, location! The charm of being able to step out the front door and be smack in the middle of Decorah's incredibly quaint, well-preserved downtown is immense.

But availing yourself of the parking lot entrance and wending your way on foot down to the river is equally satisfying.

It's a beautiful hotel in the middle of one of Iowa's most beautifulI towns.

Oh, and the complimentary breakfast buffet is an extra, wonderful perq!

I stayed at the Winneshiek over Memorial Day Weekend with my 91-year-old father. I cannot emphasize enough the tremendous understanding and support offered by the staff and management to myself and my dad regarding his needs as a nonagenarian. Deepest heartfelt thanks to everyone there for all their help and thoughtfulness. My apologies for having taken so long to write this review!

I hope to be able to return to this wonderful locale sometime sooner than later!

A wonderful hotel experience in beautiful Decorah, Iowa. You would be hard pressed to find something as lovely as this. I hope you enjoy as much as I have.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Winneshiek. It was very close to Luther College so I was able to get there and back with ease. Room was on point. It had what I needed. Was super clean. Bed was very comfortable. Will inquire to see if they can accommodate my family next year.

We visited Decorah for my wife's birthday and stayed at the Hotel Winneshiek. It is a wonderful historic hotel in the heart of the old downtown. The hotel is in beautiful shape and very clean. The staff is great and we enjoyed a nightcap at the hotel bar in the evening. There is also a Continental breakfast in the morning.

Rich history, charm around every corner. Lobby grand piano was gathering place for talented guests. Highly recommended.

The historic Hotel Winneshiek is a gem on Water Street in Decorah. You walk through the doors and immediately notice that everything is well cared-for. It's doesn't feel old, but instead it feels like a step back in time. The entire hotel is very clean, the staff are friendly, and the amenities are completely up-to-date. The room and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom modern and bright. The entire stay was lovely, and we'll book again when we return to Decorah!

in Decorah for a fishing trip and the stay was excellent at the Winneshiek Hotel. Bar was nice to have for a nightcap and Brianna was very helpful at the front desk for any assistance. clean and great location. will stay there again.

Love Decorah and Love the Winneshiek. Perfectly located with great comfort and service. Especially liked the room and comfortable bed.

Most aspects of my stay were excellent, but there were dirty clothes left in the drawer by the previous occupant, and aside from the complimentary breakfast, dining options at the hotel are nearly non-existent.
