Great location, nice staff and they have daily wine and snacks which is really nice.
No coffee maker or kettle in the room and on two days the water machine was broken (but was fixed afterwards).

The structure is old and so are the chambers. The TV was almost unasable, slow-flowing shower water. The breakfast options are quite limited.

I booked a room through trip advisor and they gave me 1 bed instead of 2 which was paid for. My guest had to sleep on the floor because they were out of rooms.

Beds are a little small
Decent place. Does feel somewhat run down and dark. Stay here mainly for a low price safe clean place, not for ambiance.
Breakfast and social hour snacks and wine were great perks. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was great. Nice walkable neighborhood.
Carpet in the room was very old and did not feel very clean. Shower water pressure was very low. No refrigerator or coffee maker in the room but there was 24 hr hot/cold water and ice available in the first floor.
My wife had stayed here 4 years ago so we knew it was a good, comfortable place to stay in walking distance to about everything. That hasn't changed. It's an old hotel. That may not be to your liking. We're fine with it. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. The AC was quite loud but after some fiddling we managed to turn it's fan down. Everything was clean but a bit tired. The Happy Hour was a nice add. A great chance to mingle with other guests. We'll probably stay there the next time we visit. I'm sure there are nicer hotel rooms in the area but we'll remember sitting outside the Static bar across the street from the Alexander sipping cocktails and watching the street scene way more than the hotel room.
There was something very quaint and cozy about the old-fashioned vibes of this historic inn. It was nothing fancy or pretentious and that's just what made it special. I had a small room and it had everything I needed. I was there during a record heatwave, so the AC wasn't working so well, but otherwise my room was great. The front desk staff people were very kind and helpful with recommendations for my trip. I especially loved the daily wine and snacks - a free happy hour - which is where I made some new friends who were also staying there (it was during America's big 250th birthday so we were all very excited about seeing the history and fun celebrations). There was only one staff member in the restaurant (during breakfast) who was always a bit grumpy and rude, but apart from him, everyone was very nice and I had an amazing experience during my first trip to Philadelphia. I would 100% recommend staying here again.
Poor AC but it was during an epic heatwave, so I know the old AC was working as hard as it could.
There was one rude and grumpy staff member who worked in the restaurant at breakfast time. He's not a pleasant person and should probably not work in a position where he interacts with customers. He didn't actually even work hard (he just stood around "waiting" for the guests to finish eating their breakfast but then even hours later it looked like he didn't tidy anything up), and most of all, he was just grumpy and rude acting like somehow the hotel guests were slowing him down with his day.

El hotel está antiguo. Moqueta en el suelo. Cama de matrimonio pequeña, habitación ruidosa y calurosa , el aire acondicionado funciona regular. La ducha del baño con cortina y es estrecha.

Parking was in a garage that I was told would be validated by the hotel when we left when in fact it was only $10 off so I was stuck with a $90 garage bill that was not planned for :(
Great location and comfy rooms, with kind staff. The breakfast is only continental and there are no fridges in the rooms, but the beds are comfy and the rooms are very clean. There is also a fun little social at night with free wine and snacks.
Fun place to stay and very close to all the historical sites. Sov, the receptionist was extremely helpful and kind.
