Attended their ‘Christmas Vacation’ night with a group of friends. Food was excellent, wine was good and the Helle beer was tasty. Live entertainment as well, so fun had by all
Very peaceful property. Lovely winery and offerings.
The place seems to have passed it's time. The room was outdated, rusted shower bar, awful heating/cooling system (if it even worked). The hallway to the rooms smelly. More like a cheap motel rather than an Inn.
The food was good, but way overpriced. The wine (only tasted the Riesling), had over the top petrol notes and should not be served anymore. Staff tried to tell me about dryness of the wine which has nothing to do with this. Certainly had no idea about wines.
The only nice part was the walk to the beach.
We were very disappointed and left in the morning as early as possible.
Clean and great service
Beautiful and quiet place highly recommended
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and comfortable and welcoming main are and dining area.
The staff was very friendly and the property was beautiful and well kept. The only downside was the bathroom was very, very small. The beds were VERY firm - I like a firm mattress, and it was a bit too firm for me. We stayed in a deluxe double queen room.
Beautiful Place with quiet atmosphere. Access to private beach.
Very nice hotel! Reasonably priced, clean rooms, beautiful grounds and friendly staff
Nice place to stay
Beautiful location and grounds, convenient a f practical rooms
Went to meet some Canadian friends at a halfway point between our two homes. This hotel was a poor choice although they surely try hard.
Only a handful of rooms at this place (I think 16). More like an old motel than a proper, modern hotel. We note that the entire complex is up for sale, and will likely require a major investment to be habitable. Rooms need a major refurbishment. Bathrooms are small with plastic showers, poor water pressure, and an EXTREMELY LOUD EXHAUST FAN!
TV's were 20 year old pre-HDTV models and our friends had continual problems with theirs.
Beds were annoyingly soft and furniture was run-down and shabby. We were pleased that there was no carpeting in the rooms, but the faux wood flooring left our feet dirty just walking around.
Internet was grossly inadequate and connections were not password protected, a huge problem for device security.
The rest of the hotel had similar issues. Floors in pubic areas were uneven and had trip-inducing ramps everywhere.
The restaurant was a bright spot, although this time of the year their hours are severely limited. There is a winery on the premises as well, but the actual wines are sadly pretty poor. Promotions for the hotel call it "lakefront", but the actual Lake Huron is a mile away down a dirt road.
You can do better.
Beautiful and vintage place. I stayed for two nights and was convenient.
The nature and little pieces of the art around the property.
The surrounding gardens and setting was very relaxing and enjoyable.
Dinner at their restaurant was excellent from the friendly knowledgeable waitress to the food presentation and flavors of the meals.
The only negative tone would be the sound traveling from the hall.
I loved the gardens, the food, the staff, and the rooms. The only thing that would have been useful is perhaps a microwave in the rooms.
Everything was fabulous.
Very beautiful and well mainteined
Beautiful property!
Beautiful property! I will return!
