The room reeked of strong cleaning smell so badly it was nauseating, I appreciate a clean room but the smell was so strong my clothing and luggage smelled from the cleaning agents they used in fact it gave me such a headache by the second night I couldn’t sleep. They no longer offered continental breakfast and the staff in the new bistro completely ignored my husband’s numerous requests for acknowledgment to purchase two cups of coffee. In fact the server poured himself a cup of coffee, looked at my husband and then turned and proceeded out of the restaurant and began chatting with the front desk employees. Drunken guests were partying in the common area until 3 am as well as yelling up and down the hallways. I have stayed here a few times and it was never like this. I believe they changed out some things in June and it was just not the same experience.
It is very rustic and basic. No frig or microwave in room. Bistro was closed for the season
The hotel was very nice and clean.
Rooms were clean. Staff was wonderful. Had a great time in Virginia City
We booked for 2 days from August 30 to September 1. The room was not cleaned
It was found the way it was left; also the bathroom was not cleaned and the room itself was not cleaned. We were shocked when we returned to our room after we went to sightseeing the city downtown.I assumed they forgot so I called the front desk and mentioned why nobody took care of the room. The representstive told me that customers are supposed to request it in the front desk. Whatttt? I requested I wanted to talk with the Manager; and he told me I will receive a call from the Manager, but she NEVER returned the call. And I saw the Manager speaking with the front desk representative but probably they ignored my complaint.
The front desk told me that's hotel policy. Imagine that!!!!!.Then I asked, well "what should we do to take a shower because
most of the towels were already used in the morning".The staff nember told me we will bring them as soon you request.
And that happened eventhough I felt the staff member was a little rude toward me when he asked me hiw many towels we will need, and I said: 6 and he told me 6 ? And I said yes, we are 2 persons.
We do not plan to return here anymore.
My advice is the Hotel is supposed to let customers to know the policy that customers require to ask for the cleaning of the rooms to the front desk. We never know about this. If the customers book o make reservation, they should be adviced about the cleaning of the rooms. That is what I didn't like because I 've been in many hotels in the country and it is the first time I hear about the customers need to request to the front desk for the cleaning of the rooms. The lady who is always in the front desk is a really nice person She is attentive and nice and really kind.
Also I forgot the name of a gentleman who works in the bistro and in the front desk that he is too attentive and kind.
Property was clean but just okay. Its very old and looks it. Front desk guy very direct and formal. Gets his job done professionally, nothing else. Lady on property was very nice. Room was clean. T v worked well
It was a nice but simple. Fun little town.
When we checked in we were told we were the last people to check in for the day yet a least a dozen more people checked after us. The room we got would have had to be the worst room they had to offer. The room we got had 2 double beds and a bathroom. That's it. No coffee making facilities, no fridge and we needed a fridge to keep medication in it. Every other room we saw had everything in it. Also to add more salt in the wound they still charged us full price for the room. Waste of money and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
The hotel seems to have recently added a new bar and eating area which was nice and a nice outside eating area. However, the rooms were very dated and did not have a coffeemaker or refrigerator. Also the TV was quite small, maybe only 36 inches and did not have streaming ability to put in your own Netflix or Youtube account.
also they do no clear you room unless you ask. We were not told that was their policy
We very much enjoyed our stay and will be booking again for next year
Decent Stay.
The hotel is conveniently located near downtown. The rooms have no fridge, microwave, or coffee maker
Fantastic stay in the Silverland Inn & Suites. Great staff in a great location. Will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.
I thought it was a very clean facility with nice rooms and friendly staff. My major complaint is with lack of coffee makers in room, or staff providing coffee for guests. Given this is a remote location with few local options in the early morning I was disappointed by that.
Has all the necessary things I needed.
for the price they do not offer many amenities. No refrigerator, no micro in room ( there is a common use for all), no coffee in room ( you can buy coffee after 7 am in their restaurant for about $3 a cup), and the smallest TV I have seen in years. Unfortunately there is really no competition in the Viginia city area for them because the few other places have much bigger problems. Oh well virginia city is great so bring a coffee maker with cups and makings and a good pair of glasses for the TV. lol
superb view on valley side of hotel
Everything was great and the staff were so incredibly sweet and welcoming when we checked in on Friday. Very happy and can't wait to see you for the round up next year!
Location and history!
Excellent choice for us as it was close to “Main Street” Virginia City. The room was pleasant and quiet. Thus was a quaint well kept hotel and the bed & pillows perfect for a good nights sleep. Highly recommend this location even if it is for one night like it was for us
