As part of my layover in Manila, I chose this hotel, mainly based on price and location. I must say that City State Tower Hotel met the grade on both of these. Although it is somewhat dated, the hotel has very adequate facilities with a very helpful and friendly staff. There are many stores, restaurants and other places of interest very close by, including Robinson, which has a huge supermarket and department store. The room had a comfortable bed, a very good air conditioner and good sink and shower with warm water. There is even a water kettle for coffee or tea. So overall, very satisfied and I definitely would stay there again in the future.
The food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff were very friendly. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable.
The hotel overal was good the size of the room was big but it did have cockroaches. That being said thats kinda just how most places are in manila. The location is really what i enjoyed the most. Being able to walk to mostly every location with convenience was the best part

Good place, but the bathroom had a problem with leaking water
The included breakfast is very good. Concierge service to Puerto Galera is good, but very expensive. However; the bed was very hard and springs were hitting me all night, the shower didn't work (no hot water anyway), strict rule of two small bottles of water, very inconvenient placement of outlets and a 1,000 peso deposit even though there is no minibar (what did they think we would steal, the bed?) and the overall feel was very run down.

Room is terrible, dirty and old, services is not that great, they charge me for kids breakfast, they didnt tell me when i checked in, they know that i book for 2 adults and 1 kid.

Well maintained, kinda, despite not so modern amenities. They excel in cleanliness. Some of the staff need a little more politeness. Those assigned in the dining area are very nice and friendly though.
No on site parking availability even though its on their property details. Was given the option of parking 3 or 4 blocks away in the Robinsons parking lot but I would have had to move it again because they don't have overnight parking. The other option was to do valet parking. I told the manager on duty that it was not acceptable and I wouldn't return as a customer. After some hesitation, he upgraded me to the valet parking lot which I appreciated.
The place was clean and comfortable, although there were no hand towels or washcloths. The people at the front desk seemed too busy to pay attention to customers. The restaurant staff was very friendly and attentive.
The outside environment is not good and look unsafe. Smells really bad because of the homeless people around the area.
Beginning to look a little run down but the staff were friendly and the aircon worked. Handy for the onward travel to the port as the hotel was the pick up location.
Alot of roaches and rats the size of my feet... but the costumer service was outstanding!!
