The hotel is at the heart of Chinatown with a ton of option to eat, shop and play. The property is very modern with a fusion of the traditional style of Singaporean, giving you a sense of how a upscale of Singaporean would have lived and remodeled their home for the 21st century. The amenity is luxurious without being tacky. This is my second time visiting and if I ever come back Singapore this is where I will stay again
Great location, it is as very small hotel, with limited facilities, no bar or restaurant, or even breakfast, very clean and comfortable, a little basic but very comfortable.
We were relocated here from Kesa house after air conditioning break down, they upgraded our room to the suite, HUGE. Great space to relax and repackage our things, trendy street, roof top bars , excellent restaurants . Higher end of Chinatown. Two minutes to Maxwell and Chinatown MRT. Thank you Stanley and staff for looking after us. 🙏🙏
This was a lovely unique hotel with friendly staff and well designed rooms.
Lots of charm and lovely staff
A really lovely hotel in one of my favourite parts of Singapore. Very friendly, helpful and pleasant staff providing for a very personal and comfortable experience.
I really didn't want to stay at a big hotel and this smallish hotel did not disappoint. The room was perfect... plenty of room to spread out. The staff was incredibly helpful from our late arrival to helping us leave in torrential rain. Location is great... about a 5 min walk from the Maxwell Center.
My wife and I stayed at the Ann Siang House for 5 nights during the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix race weekend this past September. Since we were unaware of the race when we bought our airline tickets, it was quite the surprise to see the hotel room rates were almost double their normal cost. To be fair, every hotel in Singapore had higher rates. Even with these higher rates, the hotel was still worth it in our eyes.
This boutique hotel is located in a small charming neighborhood in close proximity to Chinatown, the Maxwell (Hawker) food center, many local bars and restaurants, and the Maxwell & Telok Ayer metro stops.
This trip was in celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary and the hotel staff had a nice Anniversary greeting waiting for us in the room. Our accommodations were perfect and I can’t say enough about the front lobby staff. They were incredibly helpful in providing us with all kinds of recommendations and travel tips within the city. Their best tip? Use the subway system. It was clean, safe, inexpensive, easy to use, and incredibly efficient. You can get literally anywhere in the city with it. The housekeeping staff also kept our room looking spotless during the trip. The afternoon happy hour in the lobby was a nice way to get the evening started.
Although we weren’t in Singapore for the race, we did attend some of Friday’s events (practice runs). It was the quite the experience and we really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it and the hotel if you ever get the opportunity.
The rooms in this hotel were fabulous. The renovation has been well done. If you want to experience a traditional Singaporean Shop House then this is the place for you. The food market is right outside as is the China Town shopping area. Great place to explore.
It was close to Maxwell
Wonderful place to stay.
Staff were friendly, helpful with great amenities. Room size were great and comfortable.
Extremely disappointing service at Ann Siang House, I reached out within hours of my booking to amend my dates, offering to pay additional charges for room upgrade should be needed but faced with the following from the team:
1. The number at google page is NOT reachable, tried 4-5 times it simply says "starhub number is no longer in service".
2. Customer Service staff communication on platform was curt, offering no solutions to my situation, empathy or support of any kind. During the first few hours of communication there were still rooms available for my desired date and despite my offering to top up or downgrade my room if needed, customer service staff was not willing to support me and simply replied that I am "welcome to book those dates that you see on the platform but your booking here will still be fixed."
3. Leaving with no choice, I prompted for cancellation fee waiver that is left to be reviewed by hotel which they then rejected.
4. Called ASR main platform and was directed to "global contact line" as the local office was close, the customer service staff then proceeded to mention that they do not have "Ann Siang House" on their properties, I had to reiterated 3 times and spelling out individual alphabet, which then she was able to "find" on her internal site and connect me to the relevant support.
Overall, it leaves an extremely bad taste in the mouth as I expected minimally contactable service staff through hotline or main contact number when I needed it and not jump through hoops.
Secondly, it is disappointing having to deal with curt response from the platform chat leaving me feeling extremely helpless, desperate and ultimately exasperated with no suggestions of any solutions.
By the time I spoke with the only kind and empathetic customer service staff (Ganesh), all the rooms were already booked out, and I am left feeling coerced into a room booking.
The staff is kind and our room was spacious. Once nice perk there is a laundry machine on premise but we did not use since we needed to do laundry earlier in our trip. The machine did always seem to be in use late at night since that is when people are back from their day to do laundry. Some reviews say there is noise but we did not notice that much noise from people on the street. They have a lobby snack table where you can get stuff like apples, drinks, water, coffee, and crackers though no real breakfast served.
Beautifully restored heritage property in Chinatown area. Staff were friendly and attentive. Good sized room with good amenities and very comfortable. Although there was no restaurant or cafe in the hotel as such, there was a nice guest lobby area with many snacks available, as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages. Short walk into Chinatown area. Enjoyed the stay, and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
I had a great experience at this hotel during my brief stay after a business trip to Australia and New Zealand.
The staff were welcoming and efficient, even greeting me by name when I arrived late at night. Throughout my stay, they continued to be friendly and helpful.
The hotel offered many thoughtful amenities, from a spacious room with a very comfortable bed to unlimited snacks in the lobby and a nightly happy hour. These little touches made the stay enjoyable.
Fantastic hotel.
Great sized bed and large room - deluxe.
We missed the Happy-Hour 'free flowing wine' unfortunately, but the free coffee and snacks are on the ground floor was great.
Staff and service excellent. Great sized bathroom and toilet.
Slightly surprised at no in-room telephone when we needed to ask for additional toilet rolls (apparently use your own mobile), but went down stairs and resolved quickly and efficiently.
Lovely quality boutique hotel - and different.
Immediately close to Club Street and some nice restaurants. One accommodated us at short notice and without a booking. Had a great evening.
Great experience at the Ann Siang house! We really enjoyed the free snack bar and happy hour as well as the hospitality of the staff. Only thing that was a bit annoying was the random steps to go down...and then up to our room. Otherwise, a wonderful stay!
Walkable and the coffee and snacks
