Traditional hotel, bit dated but really lovely staff and breakfast

It’s on the returns list
Pros:

As a long established hotel, the refurbishment of the building was very impressive and tasteful.
The room was comfortable, spacious and with fresh air available and good tea / coffee selection.
The food quality and choice was by far the most gratifying aspect of the stay

Cons:

The bath spa lacked any instructions and was only used by trial and error.
The quilt as common with most hotel rooms was far too thick and unbreathable - as a superior room a better quilt would have been appreciated or at least guests should have a choice. All the studies show being cool at night is essential for a good night sleep and far more hygienic

Cons:

Instructed not to have the tap water. due to the pipe works. makes dental care tricky using bottled water.

A Beautiful Hotel
Pros:

Lovely location, lavish decor, meticulously clean with very helpful staff. Lovely and quiet at night to get a good night's sleep.

Cons:

Nothing at all, but if I had to be picky, I would get the larger shower heads fitted for a more immersive soak.

Pros:

Food, service and quality of the hotel were exceptional.

Cons:

The suite room was on the third floor. The left only went to the second floor which meant the only access was via a small quite steep set of stairs.

Lovely location and bargain overnight stay which included breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent stay, we will be back.
Pros:

Excellent location, lovely staff and restaurants were tasty. Bedroom was comfy and clean.

Cons:

Parking was 1st come 1st serve. But we found a space, otherwise there is a paid for parking around the conner or on street parking.

Pros:

Beautiful setting, quiet and peaceful. Very hot and tasty breakfast. Nice clean and well presented single room. Reasonable price.

Cons:

Water from the tap is not drinkable but hotel only provided a small water bottle in the room. A larger bottle would have been better as I noticed the room sign too late to get a bottle myself.
