We will definitely be planning another stay in the near future
Pros:

The property was beautiful. Loved walking through the garden and would consider have it be a wedding destination!
Fresh complimentary cookies were delicious
Breakfast was great with excellent service from the staff
Kids enjoyed the pool

I would stay there again in a minute.
Pros:

The amount of space that you had to spread out. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Cons:

I would like to see a little more privacy around the pool area. There seem to be four huge, empty planters that could’ve easily have been filled to provide some privacy from the street.

The small extra cost for this hotel vs “motel (number)” was more than worth it!!
Pros:

The manager and staff were very helpful. The breakfast had a huge amount of options. The room and overall hotel was updated and really nice. The outside pond made it seem like a Japanese resort.

Very comfortable place to stay
Pros:

This is a very nice clean modern hotel. The staff was very friendly and very informative to identify activities or events in the area that I could participate in. The 1847 hotel restaurant was very nice, clean, and had really good food.
The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and well organized.
The shower had hot water quicker than most hotels that I have stayed. In room refrigerator and microwave was nice.

Beautiful Hotel
Pros:

Hotel and Japanese Gardens are beautiful. The staff was all friendly and helpful.

Taking the 1 star away for two reasons. First restaurant was closed on a holiday weekend even though parking lot was quite full. I only found the closure by googling for the restaurant schedule after it was too late to change reservation.

Second was our bed was so high! I’m 5’2” and the bed was at my waist. Need stools for vertically challenged people!

Stay Here!
Pros:

The grounds were gorgeous. A large pond, beautifully landscaped with waterfalls and many koi. Walk the perimeter while you drink your morning coffee for an enchanting experience. The staff was kind and helpful, clearly proud of their hotel. The restaurant served excellent meals. We will stay here again.

Their free cookies were too good?

Wow Wow Wow--- perfect----almost but for one problem
Pros:

WOW. Beautiful spotless hotel, lounge lobby with fireplace and piano, full breakfast (eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit, biscuits, gravy, juice, potatoes, etc.) gorgeous gardens with waterfall and koi pond, plenty of parking, quiet, the friendliest staff I have ever encountered- in 75 years- from the housekeeping to the desk to the buffet, every person was a joy to encounter, they obviously love their jobs, must have great management. Bed was a mini heaven, we had suite with 2 tvs plenty of drawers, disabled shower (we didn't use it, but it looked great), view of the gardens, free cookies or water at check in, good a/c and heat, had neighbors, never heard them, ice, drinks machine (not on 2nd floor), located north of town just about ideal.
ONE PROBLEM was the step down into the gardens. There is a normal step (lets say 6 inches down) and then the 2nd (last step) is like 10 inches down, so you take what you think is another step and find yourself falling. There is no guardrail, no warning, and I nearly fell (I am partly disabled so I was holding on to my friend and was okay, but this needs fixing.) Either add another step so they are of equal drop, or put a sign warning or put a handrail or two so people can hold on. It was the ONLY thing that was not perfect A+++ at this place. Can't praise it enough.
