A nostalgic gem - like stepping back into a classic British drama. Spotless rooms and warm staff
Pros:

I loved the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They made a breakfast we could take away which was perfect for our triathlon event. I also loved the 1980s/1990s vibe. It felt like a time warp and made me very nostalgic. Would be great as a set for a tv series (like Rivals) set in that era.

Cons:

Room was very warm at night. The floor creaked a lot when I was walking over it. It would be more ecofriendly to have refillable shower wash and shampoo bottles attached to the wall rather than little packets of toiletries you open.

Pleasant, but lots could be improved. Natalie was an outstanding member of staff.
Pros:

Beautiful setting, lovely Georgian building, Natalie on reception was really lovely, chatty and professional; a credit to the hotel. Bed was very comfortable, nice patio and garden area but more comfortable furniture would be a welcome addition. For lunch I had an egg sandwich and fresh baked scones (still warm from the oven) cream tea, this was outstanding.

Cons:

Huge spiders in the bath and in the curtains!
Very tired and old fashioned, the enamel on the bath was worn through in several areas, damp smell in the bathroom, terrible table for tea and coffee. The top had completely disintegrated in some areas, this was very unpleasant and needs either covering or replacing.
Sofa bed needs removing completely, old, tired, too low and extremely uncomfortable.
No freshly grown fruit and vegetables, that area of the garden has completely gone.
I appreciate the building is old, and that is part of its charm, but some money needs investing in the properties furnishings to modernise it to a better standard. It could be absolutely delightful but sadly falls short.
Breakfast was plentiful but everything had to be ordered from the waitress initially, juice, cereal, fruit, cooked and/or continental etc. I suppose this cuts down on waste, but it felt a little pressured. Nothing at all was out in the dining room to choose from. The cooked breakfast was adequate but not quality ingredients.

Pros:

Staff were excellent. Breakfast was very good. Facilities are dated and room was small. Everything was clean but it seemed we travelled back in time 20 t0 30 years.

Pros:

Location. And the gardens

Cons:

I know that is an old location with History but it is too old at the moment, floors are bad and noisy, bathrooms are old and still with two different taps etc, I agree it should show old but some investment and keep in mind the history should be done.

Amazing character Manor House incredible bfast
Pros:

Lovely Manor House on beautiful grounds. Very quiet surroundings and peaceful. The interior has character and rooms high ceilings with lots of natural light. Well preserved and a historic, not ‘dated’ feel. The staff were very kind and friendly, accommodating and made my birthday stay perfect. The lady serving bfast on 17/5 morning was exceptional- so smiley and kind despite being so busy! She made my morning :) the breakfast was immaculate and really loved it- amazing quality and so much variety. Loved the table service too, definitely a personal touch

Cons:

The mattress felt a bit uncomfortable for me !
