I have an excellent stay here. This hotel was near the train station and bus station. Heated indoor pool was very great. Room with a huge bathroom was luxurious. Club lounge provided not bad happy hour including pork rib, shrimp and sushi and so on. Breakfast was also various to provide local and western food.
Nice big room, great bath- Awesome swimming pool and steam room and sauna. Staff super friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Awesome location.
We stayed in an executive suite with club lounge access. The suite itself was well-appointed and spacious. Room does not come with a refrigerator ... I was told the mini bar is actually an "ambient temperature" bar despite there being a raging heat wave outside. The staff was kind enough to provide 2 ice chests full of ice cubes at time of writing. Who knew I'd be relying on mini ice chests to cool myself in supposedly a "5 star" hotel?
Guests DO NOT have control of the temperature in the rooms -- whatever is shown on the thermostat is what you get. This is a first for me... I'd have to say, even 2 star motels allow one to set their own temperature in their room. The temperature adjustment in my room was set at 25.9C / 80F. It's better than sweating outside, but not much better. Staff kindly offered another room with temperature SET at 24.4 deg C , but I declined opting for 2 fans instead. (The thought of having to repack and unpack 8 bags and to move to another hot room isn't worth it over 2 degrees).
The good -- housekeeping was very attentive, probably one of the best we've seen in China. English speaking manager - English speakers shouldn't have an issue communicating their needs.
It has been half a year since the epidemic in China was lifted, and the hotel has still not opened the lounge, and does not know what excuses to use to reduce the happy hour for senior members. It provides fast food worth about 25 RMB on the street, and the soup is served in a coffee cup. Compared with other IHG hotels of the same level or lower, it does not feel any sincerity. It is not recommended for senior members to stay, because you will not feel any treatment you deserve.
It's easy to create a nice experience when everything is going right, but Ms Carina and her team went above and beyond when everything went wrong. When I realized my passport was missing, they took the extra step to help me mitigate all my travel plans. I cannot praise them enough for their friendly and helpful efforts.
They also went the extra mile in everything they do. For example, I was walked to the nearby supermarket. The Crowne Plaza team also made our anniversary extra special with cake and wine.
Not all the rooms are created equal, so don't be afraid to ask for a change. Our first one reeked of smoke, and I breathed easier in the second. The pool and gym are open to the public, so go early if you don't want to be one of a dozen people jostling for space. In true Chinese fashion, there is a great deal of coughing, spitting and nose blowing in the pool, which is off-putting to many westerners...but when Rome...
Rooms are sensational (the one we stay was huge, tasteful and practical), amenities of very good quality, and excellent service. The breakfast is much more than you can possibly even try; even with an ongoing congress and loads of people, the breakfast area is spacious enough and replacements fast enough to avoid any problems. Highly recommended.

I was more than glad to check in at Yibin Crowne Plaza after a 3 hour flight and another 4 hours car drive. Looks and feels like a new hotel. Nice interior, friendly stuff, quick check in, welcome drink in the lobby, nice dinner at the hotel restaurant, even at a fairly late time (9 p.m.) for Chinese standards. Breakfast was great, too. Large room. I doubt that you find a better deal in that area.
Our room was very clean, bright and spacious and the beds were very comfy. There is a shopping center next door with many restaurant options and a very big supermarket.
The A/C thermostat control didn't work. They came to our room a few times to fix it and then later they found that it's actually central control.
Anyhow, I found the hotel staff not so well-trained. They don't seem to be able to handle "unexpected" issues (we had a minor issue with our booking and they didn't handle it well at all). We were suprised that Crown Plaza doesn't provide better training / guidelines to the staff.
Very pleasantly surprised. Great hotel, clean and modern - great hop off point to the Shunan Bamboo forest. Staff are very helpful and attentive. English speaking concierge and receptionist - very helpful for non Chinese speaking guests to make arrangements for travel around the city and to the Shunan Bamboo forest. Congratulations to the hotel staff and management for providing a great standard of property and service!
I booked this hotel for my husband and in-law's visit to Yibin. The staff at the front desk worked very hard to make sure they got everything correct. The room itself was very well designed. Very clean, spacious and quite. There are also excellent restaurants for both Asian and western food on third floor. Great cooks and wonderful service. The hotel is definitely much better than the average Crown Plaza in the U.S. Highly recommended. I will definitely book again if I am back to visit my family in Yibin!
The Crowne Plaza in Yibin is a hotel that I recommend and where I would stay again. This hotel is a good representation of the Crowne Plaza brand. It is well located in the city center with an Eating Street and extensive shopping just outside the hotel. The rooms are large, well appointed and modern containing a Western toilet, stand up shower, and soaking bathtub. Two items were broken in my room – the bathroom light switch was broken which meant the light stayed on all night and keep me from sleeping; and the clothesline in the shower would not pull out to hang wet clothes. I reported these maintenance issues to the front desk and both items were repaired the same day. The toilet amenities – shampoo, conditioner and body lotion are poor quality and need to be upgraded. The hotel has a well-equipped fitness center with dumbbells, weight machines, and an extensive cardio selection. There is an outdoor sitting area and patio off of the fitness center. In June 2017, the swimming pool, sauna, whirlpool and steam room are all closed for renovation. The restaurant on the second floor serves a good breakfast selection and a great lunch and dinner menu selection with a mix of Asian and Western food. The food was high quality. When in Yibin, definitely the place to stay.
We stayed 2 nights at Crowne Plaza during our vacation in Sichuan. From check-in to check-out, we had a wonderful stay. The hotel is brand new and modern. The splendid rooms are large,very clean and very well equipped.
But for sure, the hotel gem is the staff. At the front desk, at the lounge or at the swimming pool, the staff was adorable and helpful and made our stay wonderful. Special mention to the Chief Concierge who organized a driver for a day trip to Bamboo Sea and Leshan. He advised us a restaurant as well and came to the restaurant where he ordered local food for us.
