The Attwater

The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The bed was very cozy, and everything felt fresh and well maintained. The location was excellent — close to downtown Newport and major attractions — yet quiet enough for a relaxing stay. Check-in was smooth, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Our King Suite was very comfortable and spacious. The bedding was high quality, great pillows, and wonderful mattress! Breakfast was delish, and staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Would definitely book again.

Our stay at the Attwater was fantastic. The staff was so welcoming and attentive to our stay. Very accommodating since we arrived in Newport way before check-in time, even upgraded our room without charge!

We had an amazing experience at The Attwater. We had to make a last minute change when our other hotel closed for renovations. The Attwater staff was so helpful and made the process seamless. They also helped with any questions we had about things to do and how to get where we needed to go. Highly recommend!

The Attwater was the perfect place to be with a group of friends. The decor and rooms were beautiful and comfortable and the location is convenient while also being away from the crowds. The breakfast was delicious and the all day coffee and tea with cookies were a welcome treat. Peter at the front desk was friendly and helpful. A great highlight of the Attwater are the sitting areas located throughout the hotel. It was wonderful to gather with all our friends on the main floor or in the breakfast room. We will definitely plan to return to this lovely hotel.

Cozy and well decorated rooms, comfortable bed and clean bathroom, not even mentioned about home made healthy breakfast! Five stars service, we love it!

My wife and I had an excellent stay at The Attwater. Peter delighted us with an unexpected, free upgrade to our room. It was spacious and wonderful, same as the hotel itself. Tasteful, modern decor and design, with a comfortable lounge area. The breakfast spread was quite good, with plenty of variety. Hot beverage service all day was also appreciated (coffee and tea). Wifi was solid. Peter also gave very good recommendations for things to do in Newport. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Upon arrival to this quaint gem, we were greeted quickly. Our welcome pack and keys were ready. To go and we were given a rundown of the area. The room was perfect! Nice and cozy on a cold December day. The decor was amazing. Included in our booking was a nice breakfast the following morning. Check out was a breeze, we will be back.

Location

The Attwater is a very small but well maintained and nicely decorated boutique hotel within walking distance of the downtown and waterfront areas. Our host, Katie, greeted us upon arrival with warm cookies, got us checked in quickly, & carried all our bags up to our rooms on the 2nd floor. She offered recommendations on places to see and for dining. Our room was of good size & beds were comfortable. We enjoyed a continental breakfast with many delicious offerings. Unfortunately our trip only allowed for a one night stay this time but we would definitely choose to return to the Attwater.

The decor was very "designer". Bed was comfortable. The breakfast had several choices including a wonderful egg/cheese bake, yogurt, fruit and croissants. Check-in was easy.

Peter greets you with enthusiasm and kindness. The breakfast is simple but good. My suite was very spacious.

Staff was extremely accommodating, hotel was exceptionally clean the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the Attwater for 2 nights. The manager Peter was extremely helpful and accommodating. We loved the location, it is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood filled with local shops yet 10 min walk to the wharfs. My suggestions to the hotel are : improve the coffee, the rugs and trim paint are showing signs of age and HVAC unit in our room was VERY noisy . Looking foward to staying there again!

Great place to stay - clean and great service. Peter is pleasant, helpful and resourceful! close proximity to shopping and dining! Will consider staying there again.

The location is great.
You can walk to the Warfs, Thames Street, Stop n Shop.
A big plus the hotel is next to Newport Art Museum.
The parking was easy.
We didn't have a problem to park our car behind the hotel building. There was always an empty space.
The room was clean and cozy.
Breakfast is great! and it's included in the stay. Fresh fruit, homemade omlette bake, French toast, chia pudding...
It is served from 8am till 10am.
