Enjoyable stay in good location
Pros:

Lovely guest house-type hotel in a good location a few streets back from the waterfront. We had a king room which was a large bedroom with a sitting area - both lovely and great amount of space. Small breakfast selection in the morning which we opted not to use. Lovely property but definitely pricey for what it is - paint could do with refreshing in places too. That said, we enjoyed our stay and we’re glad to have chosen the Attwater for our time in Newport.

Cons:

Almost more of an Air BnB feel as didn’t see any staff the entire stay, other than the housekeeper on one occasion. Our room was on the 3rd floor which had no elevator which could be an issue for some - something to be mindful of. (We were fine but definitely a challenge with large suitcases!)

Perfect hotel for a stay in Newport!
Pros:

Everything. Beautiful hotel and room. Free hot drink station and amazing cookies at night!
The staff were so friendly and helpful, we would definitely come back!

Tucked up in Newport
Pros:

My college daughter and I had a great visit. We loved the location near the tennis hall of fame and easy walk to many spots. Our room was lovely (upgraded to the front room suite) and the living room was a great place to relax. Breakfast was tasty and the service was great. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it!

Girls Weekend!
Pros:

Great boutique hotel! The room was stylish and clean and Peter was a great host. We truly enjoyed our chats with him! We were there for a Mom's getting away weekend. Parking was a breeze. The hotel is located in an area that is easy to access both the Cliff Walk and downtown areas!

A wonderful, comfortable stay in a great location — I would definitely return.
Pros:

The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The bed was very cozy, and everything felt fresh and well maintained. The location was excellent — close to downtown Newport and major attractions — yet quiet enough for a relaxing stay. Check-in was smooth, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Honestly, there was very little to dislike. If anything, the stay was short and I wish I could have stayed longer.

Lovely boutique hotel!
Pros:

Our King Suite was very comfortable and spacious. The bedding was high quality, great pillows, and wonderful mattress! Breakfast was delish, and staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Would definitely book again.

Annual sister’s winter weekend in Newport
Pros:

Our stay at the Attwater was fantastic. The staff was so welcoming and attentive to our stay. Very accommodating since we arrived in Newport way before check-in time, even upgraded our room without charge!
The decor and beds are beautiful and comfortable, and clean! Breakfast was delicious too. We’ll definitely book there again! Thanks Peter and Katie.

Highly recommend! Great experience!
Pros:

We had an amazing experience at The Attwater. We had to make a last minute change when our other hotel closed for renovations. The Attwater staff was so helpful and made the process seamless. They also helped with any questions we had about things to do and how to get where we needed to go. Highly recommend!

Perfect gathering place for friends
Pros:

The Attwater was the perfect place to be with a group of friends. The decor and rooms were beautiful and comfortable and the location is convenient while also being away from the crowds. The breakfast was delicious and the all day coffee and tea with cookies were a welcome treat. Peter at the front desk was friendly and helpful. A great highlight of the Attwater are the sitting areas located throughout the hotel. It was wonderful to gather with all our friends on the main floor or in the breakfast room. We will definitely plan to return to this lovely hotel.
