Expensive, awful dump of a place with filthy mattresses and pillows, avoid at all costs.
Pros:

Forget the scaffolding and building work, this hotel or hostel is a dump. I didn’t like anything about the property and couldn’t wait to leave.

Cons:

See above, awful place, the room had filthy mattresses and pillows and all you could hear was the noise from the guests staying in the room above.
For a family room I expected more for my money than a double bed with a crappy bunk bed.
I complained to the reception staff but I might as well of talked to myself.

Expect functional with a fantastic location
Pros:

The location is perfect, we had a sea view of the palace pier, breakfast was ok, it had what we needed. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The room was nice and clean and the bathroom everything worked as it should, there’s also a tv in the room which we didn’t expect so that was good.

Cons:

We hadn’t realised it was a hostel when booking, it’s kind of half way between a hostel and hotel so the rooms are functional without any decor or luxuries and not the comfiest. Scaffolding and netting covered the entire building, we weren’t told when booking. The lift wasn’t working.

Es ist eben ein Hostel, man sollte also nicht zu viel erwarten. Die Lage ist dafür top.

Die Lage war top, das Personal super freundlich und hilfsbereit, der Preis für Brighton in Ordnung

Cons:

Der Bewegungsmelder im Bad ist ne Zumutung. Sitzt man auf der Toilette, geht das Licht aus. Putzt man sich die Zähne, geht das Licht aus...and so on...wenn man nicht jede Aktivität im Bad mit Ausdruckstanz verbindet macht man sie im Dunkeln.
Die Fenster konnte man nur einen kleinen Spalt öffnen, was bei der aktuellen Hitzewelle dazu führte, dass es sehr warm im Zimmer war.
Die Matratze ist viiiiiiel zu weich, man hängt komplett durch und es gibt keinen Schrank im Zimmer

The staff couldn't do anymore to be accommodating if they tried, they were so lovely and helpful. We were allowed to store our bags before we checked in and after we had checked out. The beds were comfy the room was big , it was more like a hotel than a hostel. We had a great stay. Also we were right near the sea front.

Cons:

The only thing was because of the location it was noisy until about 2am but that was mainly because the football was on and it was saturday night also it was hot so we had to leave the windows open but no fault of the hostels and wasnt a major issue at all.

Pros:

Best location in town, near the beach and famous pier. Nice and very big room with renovated bathroom. Nice stuff at the reception. Quite silent even though we were in the city centre.

A building is under construction, but this didn't bother us.

The bed wasn’t the most comfortable and it was quite expensive for one night, but we booked during peak summer so that’s to be expected
