Orchard Street Hotel

The only member of reception staff did not have access to booking.com bookings, and had to contact her off-site manager, who told her there was no booking on their system, despite this being confirmed through both booking.com and by the property who had previously messaged me back on booking.com. The poor receptionist had to inform me that I needed to contact customer service at booking.com. Customer service have confirmed to me that my booking was on their system, so this is case of a poorly managed and/or unreliable property.

Pumps went out… no water in room for one night out of three night stay. Even with water back on, water pressure in sink was not satisfactory

Some facilities like tv didn’t work and reception staff aloof.

Очень темный номер. С большим чемоданом там находиться невозможно. Номер - это двуспальная кровать, которая занимает все место между стеной, окном и шкафом и остаётся не больше метра до соседней стены, где стоит банкетка с элементом тумбочки - это видно на фото. Что не видно: очень маленький шкаф - 4 вешалки, вещи разложить нет возможности. Узкий коридор, где встроен не только этот маленький шкаф, но и узкий стеллаж ( он у нас был заполнен до верху). Санузел - нельзя сказать, что очень маленький, но косметику разложить негде. В бронировании было указано - кофемашина ( она оказалась в луже) и сейф, которого в номере не было. Камеры хранения багажа, что заявлено в бронировании, у них нет - чемоданы оставляют рядом с рецепшеном.Основная проблема, которая нас очень удручила заключалась в следующем: заранее мы списались с отелем и спросили есть ли возможность оставить у них в камере хранения чемодан на несколько дней после чекаута, и мы получили утвердительный ответ письменно, в переписке на сайте Букинга; за день до чекаута я подошла на ресепшен и ещё раз уточнила, я не получила отрицательного ответа; в день чекаута нам в этом было отказано. Именно это поведение персонала вызвало целый ряд неудобств, связанных со срочным поиском камеры хранения багажа и дефицитом времени, поскольку мы уезжали поездом в другой город и брать с собой большой чемодан в поездку на 4 дня нам было очень не удобно; благо, что нас друзья, которые и нашли и сами сдали наш чемодан в камеру хранения. Такая ситуация не возникла, если бы сотрудники не ввели нас в заблуждение. Этот факт возмутителен! Не верьте даже письменному подтверждению, поскольку оно совсем не имеет силы!

AC was weak.

The entire hotel, and the staff in particular, is incredibly slack. I never once saw them restock the supply packets in the first-floor cafe, nor did they ever replace or brew fresh coffee. The housekeeping staff, especially, is unbelievable.

Right from the moment I walked in, there was long hair in every single corner, and the bathroom floor was absolutely sickening. There were even bugs constantly in the bathroom, the water pressure from the faucet and showerhead was incredibly weak, and the white bedsheets had numerous small stains on them.

I stayed for seven days and no one cleaned my room. Finally, one day I ran into a housekeeper at my door who was talking excitedly on her phone with earphones in. I asked her to tidy up my room because, after so many days, the bath mat was completely soaked. When I got back to the room, I was 'mind-blown'—literally the only thing they did was swap out that one bath mat. You could easily tell that absolutely nothing else had been touched. I’ve traveled to so many places, and this is the very first time I’ve encountered something like this. Truly 'magical'.

The most infuriating part was on the last day. Right before check-out, around 10:45 AM, I wanted to quickly wash my hands and rinse my mouth, only to find they had already shut off the water supply early????"

The front door got a bit stuck

The Wi-Fi is very weak. (In the 8th generation)

It was filthy. We arrived for a one-night stay, dropped off luggage and went back out and did not arrive back until late at night. Unfortunately we discovered most of these issues late and did not have the wherewithal to request a room change less than 12 hours from checkout:

Blood stained sheets
Food crumbs in bed
Hair in bed
Partially consumed water bottle left from prior guests
Baby roach in shower
Took over 2 min for hot water to start running. Sink was also clogged and almost full by the time we had hot water

We ended up sleeping on top of the comforter because of how dirty the sheets were.

Room was a little too small it needed more space use, no sufficient plugs near the bed, hot water takes long time. Cleaning services are requested however it can be improved.
