Sea Shore Allure

This was our second time to St. John and second time staying at Sea Shore. We got married here in 2015 and were returning to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. We were so excited to return and to stay at Sea Shore. The property is beautiful and very well maintained, with a gorgeous view. Room was very clean and comfortable. While the property itself was just as nice as it was the first time, we were surprised and disappointed at the customer service issues we experienced. In terms of responsiveness, it was a totally different vibe than 10 years ago. As this trip was approaching, they reached out to us to offer assistance with things such as provisions for the room, jeep rentals, etc. We took them up on their offer to have them assist with a jeep rental. Ann Marie stopped responding to us about it prior to our trip. When we reached out for an update, she stated she was having difficulty finding something that fit the timeframe we needed but assured us she would let us know what would happen either way. We never heard anything and by the time we got there we were unable to secure a rental on our own. Had we known they weren’t going to assist, we would’ve handled it ourselves ahead of the trip.

When we arrived, she was very nice when checking us in and even said we received a slight room upgrade (there was only one other couple staying there, so most rooms were open). She did not bring up the jeep issue, and at that point we didn’t mention it. When she heard it was our second time back, she informed us that returning guests get 10% off and that we would get credited. We didn’t know about the 10% thing but were very appreciative of her offer (in the moment it made us not care about the jeep issue). She stated that we would get an update about it at some point during the trip. We did not hear anything, so I followed up at the end of the trip. No response. I tried again when we first got back. Ann Marie said Dior would process it and we would see a credit in about 7 days. That time passed and I reached out again. No response. It took additional reaching out for Ann Marie to say that management had to review our “request” (we did not request it – it was offered). She then finally called to say management denied it because they technically placed us in an “upgraded” room. Not once did she apologize for wrongly offering us a 10% refund, nor did any owner or manager ever respond to us. It’s a shame because they were pleasant in person but the whole 3-week post trip ordeal left a bad impression. That issue, along with the lack of responsiveness about the jeep rental made it clear that we should stay somewhere else next time. You pay good money for the room, and with only 2 couples there you would expect responsiveness.

The first experience 10 years ago was very nice in terms of the personal approach they had, as well as how responsive they were. That alone helped us overlook some of the downsides, such as location. Most taxis would not go back there at night, and the walk from the Cruz Bay night life isn’t the best when it is late. One taxi driver informed us that most drivers don’t like going there due to road conditions leading up to it. A jeep rental could solve that problem….

We had an amazing week here! We were pleasantly surprised to find coolers, beach chairs and beach towels! The welcome basket was also a surprise packed with snacks when we arrived. The location was convenient and close to all restaurants and shops. Communication was great and they were quick to answer any questions we had. The bed was very comfortable and even though we rarely watch TV all of our normal apps were readily available. We really enjoyed the rooftop hot tub and pool. We travel a lot and St. John quickly made the number one spot for our favorite destinations. If you love to snorkel the trip to Watermelon Cay is worth it. We loved Francis Bay and Cinnamon Bay. Trunk Bay is beautiful but busy. Maho Bay was our least favorite but we did see turtles so that made it worth the trip. Honeymoon beach (in my opinion) had the most beautiful sand and water (we took a trolley from Caneel Bay Resort). We also rented a boat in Coral Bay to snorkel and check out that side of the island, the weather was perfect so we were able to go to places that were not normally allowed.

We would most definitely return! The one bedrooms are (I believe) all located on the first floor.
We had room # 3 (was able to request) and I believe it had the best ocean view.
The property managers were wonderfully friendly and helpful. The car ferries do pass by frequently, but were not annoying and my husband actually enjoyed watching them. It is a small hotel with a small pool and two hot tubs, beach chairs, cooler, noodles. The property was clean and quiet. It's located down a road with lots of pot holes, but don't let that discourage you. We never had trouble finding a parking spot.
The place is lovely, and the rooms were stocked with so many items i.e., baggies, coffee filters, etc. so we didn't have to purchase much at the starfish market (very close). There is no restaurant on site or poolside service, but that was fine with us and we were off (very early to get parking spots) to the many wonderful beaches St. John has to offer. I was just reminded as I was reading other reviews about them having the best pillows ever. I actually took a photo of the tag. The king bed was super comfortable, although a tad bit high off the ground. We never did walk to town, but the drive was very short. This hotel is a real gem.

My boyfriend and I traveled here with my three teenage children for spring break. The place is beautiful, comfortable, and conveniently located. It had everything we needed to feel like we were at our own house.
I cannot say enough great things about the customer service/concierge women, Ann Marie and Dior. I have traveled to a lot of places domestically and internationally and have never received such wonderful service. Ann Marie and Dior were so nice, friendly, accommodating, and helped us plan our days and nights before and during our trip to St. John, making it so relaxing, fun, and very memorable. Communication was easy with very quick response times. Their recommendations were top notch! Every company, place, and person they recommended were professional, friendly, and wonderful!
We hope to be back here again soon.

I have traveled to St John with my family for 13 years. We have stayed all over the island from Villa's in Peter Bay and Chocolate hole, to the Westin, Caneel (wish it would come back), the Hills and Grand Bay. Without a doubt our families favorite location to stay in Sea Shore Allure. When we returned in March of 2018 post hurricanes, it was one of the few properties open, so we gave it a shot. Here are some highlights:
Location: About an 8 min walk to town and 10 min drive to north shore beaches. On the water with amazing fews.
Rooms: First class.
Team: Because it is such a small property, you get to know their amazing owners and family and they are always happy to help with anything you need on the island.
Thank you for always making St John special.

Absolutely amazing. We stayed in a two bedroom suite that was stunning. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were amazing and the views of the bay were outstanding. In fact, we spent one entire day on the property just enjoying the pool and listening to the waves hit the shore. The staff members treated us so well and they made sure we had everything we needed. A top notch resort! Anyone consider visiting St. John should check out Sea Shore Allure.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom villa. The customer service was outstanding. Anytime we need anything we got a quick response back.The rooms were beautiful and view Was amazing.
I highly recommend this place. Looking forward to coming back next year.

I would highly recommend Seashore Allure when visiting St John.

First of all, the staff is amazing and really try to help make your stay in St John the best. Even after you leave, their service is top notch (we left a charge behind and they mailed it to us!).

Secondly, the room is so very well stocked. From beverages in the refrigerator to a welcome basket of snacks to a smoothie maker, this place has it all! The outdoor area was also well equipped with grills, hot tubs, and a luxury pool area. The only 1 thing that is a draw back is the proximity to the car ferry (lots of car ferries going to and fro).

Lastly, the proximity to Cruz Bay is perfect. It is short enough to walk if you'd like, yet, far enough away to be out of the bustling streets.

We enjoyed living in luxury while on St. John at Sea Shore Allure! Spacious and well appointed condos with everything you need and more! The kitchen was well stocked and so were the linens. The large showers and tubs were an extra luxury that we enjoyed as well. Delrise was wonderful on arrival and great with communication before and during our stay.
The location was a quick drive to groceries and the roundabout that takes you to north shore/centerline/Cruz bay while still being “away from it all”
The bay that the condos sit on and have a view of is the same bay the car ferry goes in and out - I was worried initially that this would be unsightly or noisy but it ended up not being a problem at all. My son loved to watch the boats come back and forth.
We hope for to the opportunity to visiting again!

Sea Shore Allure did not disappoint...
This property is gorgeous and very well maintained. Great Location. We were greeted upon our arrival by the owner who showed us around. A gift basket was in our room at our arrival. Our one bedroom unit was more than adequate for the two of us. The unit is up to date with high quality details and furnishings. Our bed was so comfortable. Loved being on first floor. Great location. This was our third visit to the island and our first time staying at Sea Shore Allure...
By far the nicest place we've stayed on the Island.

We are so glad we decided to spend our last days on STJ at Sea Shore Allure! The place is immaculate, quiet, loved the small size, and everything has been thought of for your stay. Multiple grills, hot tubs, even the bathroom by the pool is spotless. The rooms are amazingly well-equipped with everything you need - coolers, chairs, stuff for the pool, the kitchen is fantastic with everything you could need, bathrobes, DVDs, books, bathrooms, even a set of dumbbells - can't say enough.

Location is also great. Being on the water with views from your porch and pool, and also a quick walk to down (though up/down very steep hills, so not for everyone).

Best part is the staff. Lee was so helpful before and during our stay. The woman who cleaned our room was so kind and helpful, and everyone you see greets you like family and is always tiding up and making sure your experience is great.

We highly recommend it here!

Upon our arrival at Seashore Allure we were greeted so warmly by Lee and were in awe of the beautiful surroundings of Seashore Allure. Our suite was so clean, impressively furnished, inviting and all the little details made us feel special. We appreciated the welcome basket and the fact that so many amenities were available to us in the fridge and cupboards. The setting is amazing and the views are breathtaking. One of our immediate reactions was, “We’re coming back next year.” Throughout the week our interactions with Delbert and Lee were always very pleasant and any questions we had were answered promptly. We also enjoyed the personal connections we made with the other guests from all over the Eastern mainland US. We could easily walk to downtown Cruz Bay for dinner or shopping. While the roads to the beaches are definitely steep, twisted and challenging in places, the soft white sand and the cerulean blue water is beyond compare. We handed out many of your business cards as we talked to people on the beach and they asked where we were staying because we were so impressed. We look forward to returning for another fantastic vacation next year.

I write this review with mixed feelings. I am not sure I want those who read this to book a vacation at this great resort as we want to make sure we can return next year LOL.
This was the perfect spot for us. It had everything we wanted and then some. Very quiet and peaceful and just a short walk to the downtown area where you can find some really great places to eat.
We love to fish and cooked our catch for dinner a couple of nights.
If I could recommend one thing that would be to have some food bought ahead of time especially if you have a long travel day as we did. We shopped on our second day there and found everything we needed at Starfish Market ( 10 min walk).

Beautiful setting and amenities were excellent. The beach was not conducive to swimming however

Well appointed kitchens. Beautiful view. Sound of the surf. High end furnishings, linens, everything!! Great location. Minutes from downtown. The staff at Seashore Allure are wonderful. Met us there the first day. Walked us through our beautiful condo. Gave us recommendations where to eat and what to do. Wonderful, wonderful host. Can't say enough.

We loved this property and will look to stay here again! Beautiful views, gorgeous property and a very easy walk into Cruz Bay which is priceless since parking in Cruz Bay can be hard to find!
