Lovely place with views of Lake Windermere. Staff really pleasant and helpful. Food excellent and selection of draught and bottled beers, spirits and wines, though a tad expensive.
It was very hot during our stay and whilst an electric fan was in our room, it did little to cool the room down. Can't blame the hotel for that, it was an extreme heatwave.
Unglaublich schönes, altes Anwesen mit Blick auf den See. Personal ist extrem und man fühlt sich direkt willkommen. Gutes Essen, super Bar (wir mussten uns da etwas durch die Karte probieren). Wir würden definitiv wieder dort absteigen.
Looks lovely from the outside, gorgeous well kept gardens. Great view up a hill. Staff were excellent, Joe, Imogen and Matt. Love the phone call from the hotel the day before confirming the booking, asking if needed dinner or breakfast booking. That is a nice touch and also a good marketing. Loved it was quiet and peaceful. With a bit of work and money this hotel could achieve 5 stars.
Bit disappointed on the room. Needs refreshing, water marks down the wall paper, no curtains, battered desk. so that room i'd give it 3 stars, not the 4 stars the hotel is meant to be. It had a lot of cobwebs so housekeepers needs to look up when cleaning. Walking past other room with open doors, they looked amazing, so can't understand why that room was not at that standard. I was surprised to be told no staff were on site at night (they did give clear instructions on who to call.) I thought 4 star hotels were required to have staff physically present on site 24 hours a day. I know they are part of a group and other hotels are like 10 mins walkaway, maybe that is why?
